Membership behaviour (or not!)
I have seen at least two previous posts on the subject of washing caravan/motorhome on site and accept there is no specific 'don't' in the published rules.
However it does anger me to watch a member on site at the moment getting large buckets of water from the waste tap and fully washing a caravan, including using a pressure washer on the roof (which I believe is crazy anyway because of seals). Stands on the roof of a commercial 'Transit' form of van used for towing the subject caravan. For myself this goes too far and I suggest the guidlines are updated and made clear.
No one, with pride, likes his kit to be dirty but there are ways to keep presentable while traveling but not wash. Also, no one with any consideration or respect for others would do it.
At the same time this cleaning was taking place another member on site used the toilet facilities without first placing a required band on hooks placed outside for use under current COVID requirements. I asked why and was told my attitude was not required, but not in those terms.
Why do we allow undisciplined mindless members? I know, membership only reflects society so what a sad society I live in.
Thank you (a Grumpy 70 year old)

If you have concerns, the thing to do is to speak to the warden on site at the time of the event but, really, there’s nothing to be gained from grumping on here after the event.
Who hath woe, sorrow, contentions, babbling etc - good choice of name Proverbs 2329.😀

I used the words as a stand alone comment, P2329, as they seemed appropriate to your rather stressed sounding post. I'm certainly not into discussing religion.

I seem to recall that washing of units on sites (I assume this was a club site?) was a no no? Wasn't there a post from someone at HO that stated as such? I think it was to do with making grass pitches muddier and/or leaving a residue on the pitch? I think washing with just water anything that affected safety like lights or car windows was OK?
Personally I don't like doing anything approaching 'work' while away but realise that for some it's a labour of love and even enjoy it.
As said the first port of call are the wardens, especially for anything Covid related.

I have washed my van on site, dragging it over the M62 in the winter on a wet day and you cant see out of the windows, and no I will not wipe the windows, it is covered in grit and salt.
I honestly do not understand why the actions of someone washing their rig upsets you. Genuinely, I am on my way to being grumpy but just dont get this one.
Why do we allow undisciplined mindless members?
Well its a bit like getting pregnant, you dont need to take a test to enable you to get in the club.

Well, for a start, it's a waste of water. If the Club pays for water through a meter then that cost could be passed on to the user. They may then have second thoughts.
Second, if it's a rule, perhaps unwritten, but acknowledged, similarly not using the (Covid) band, a rule in place for everyone's safety.
Personally, I'm fed up with rule breakers, people who think rules don't apply to them (some politicians & their advisors seem to spring to mind) and so it just spreads, people disregarding rules, laws, whatever, which are primarily in place for the safety & security and fair treatment of everyone, not just the individual who thinks they can do what they like.
Big rules, and little rules. Like parking on pavements, speeding, turning up at site before 1pm, littering etc etc. Disregarding rules and ignoring those who break them bring the whole thing into disrepute. Everyone out for themselves - could be part of the reason the UK is a mess.

Geejay I agree with all you say ,we come from the generation (even older for me)who in the vast majority showed respect and consideration for others,
which has been eroded over the years by the growth in the me me me society with very little thought towards others unless "whats in it for me"

We have certainly cleaned ours with copious water in the past, before the CC decreed it unacceptable. Very easy on a service pitch at Chatsworth. After the decree I just contented myself with a bowl of water (soapy / clean) and a wrung out cloth. Never had any complaints about that, even chatted with the warden while doing it. Personally it's not something I could get worked up about, unless I was in the firing line.
Now we have a MH and I can get in front of our house, we do it there.😀
