We are planning for next year.

Plan A - France/ Spain

Plan B - Wales

Stuck on trying to find a sight on Angelsey with full service pitches if possible, sea views, and a level (ish) walk to the beach, a pub and somewhere to buy a daily newspaper. Please does anyone know of such a place?

Does Tyddyn Isaf on Anglesey have all that? Using the search filters on UKCampsite is so quick !

Dafarn Rhos at Lligwy has serviced pitches and you won't get much closer to the beach. Moelfre is 1 mile away and has pub, cafe, shop and excellent fish & chip shop. Free parking available if you drive there. Alternatively a 30 to 40 min walk from campsite via coastal path or road.

WOW! CC sites are very cheap in comparison.

There are 2 CLs you might wish to consider.

    Pen-y-Llyn near RAF Valley

    Brambles near Newborough Warren

Both have serviced pitches and near beaches. Not sure about availablity of papers though.

We've just got back from 2 weeks at Dafarn Rhos. It has serviced pitches but they are not worth the extra because most grass pitches have water points on them & the serviced pitches don't have grey water waste drainage. The site is literally 1 minutes stroll to Lligwy beach which is vast and dog friendly all year. The village of Moelfre is a quick drive or a lovely 40 minute walk along the Anglesey coastal path. Moelfre has a pub, village shop and a great fish and chip cafe which is eat in or take away. Because of its location right on the beach, the site isn't cheap. But it does have all the facilities (showers, laundry room, pot wash). The shop at Moelfre opens at 8am and has the full range of daily newspapers. TV reception at the site is good

Another site we use a lot on Anglesey is a CL called Pwll Preban which is in Rhoscolyn. Pwll Preban is £17.50 per night but its facilities are limited to 10amp electric and a water tap. All pitches are on gravel. They do have a new shower and toilet block but this is closed due to C19. Rhoscolyn beach is a 20 minute walk from the site and its a great beach. The walk isn't level but nor is it hilly just some gentle inclines. The nearest shop for a newspaper is the spar which opens 7at am but it is a 10 minute drive. The TV reception at the site is fine.

For a 2 week holiday I would choose Dafarn Rhos because of its facilities and fantastic beach location. If you like things quiet you'll love Pwll Preban

Another vote for Pen-y-Llyn, small commercial and CL, excellent site, one of the best we have used.

Anglesey is a much larger island than people realise. I wouldn't attempt to explore the island from one place but would find one site on the East Coast and one on the West. We have stayed on Pwll Preban and would recommend it.

    Amazing owners.
