    Thanks. I do like the i800 however they seemed to have down rated the engine to 136bhp, which seems a bit low to me?

    I test drove a 2019 i800 136bhp diesel manual SE nav at the weekend I was impressed with the ease of driving, power delivery and light steering, high driving position and great price. It seems very torquey and first gear is very low which is great for hill starts. Rwd is great too for hills. I bought it will pick it up next week, will be towing a 1.5 tonne swift long single axle. I'm quietly confident that it will be a great towcar. Will report back.

     Thanks. Will be really interested how you find it. My caravan is 1400kg. From what i ve read the manual can tow 2300kg?

    i800 2019 136bhp 6-speed manual 26,000miles ex-enterprise vehicle - new towbar fitted (£570)

    Just towed 200 miles 1.5 tonne caravan with a grin on my face, it's a winning formula. Rwd, long wheelbase, heavy, lots of space. It feels like it's on rails, it does not budge (even when dive-bombed from behind by fast transit vans). It feels very safe... there's no mpg indicator on the dashboard had to calculate it after top-up... approximately 28mpg towing at 60mph. Torque curve - keep it between 1500-2500 revs for best results. It does have to be worked when going up steep hills but it's no problem, a 1:7 was met with no difficulty. 

     

    I was getting a bit shell-shocked trying to tow with my Mazda cx5 which was all over the place especially in cross winds and was considering having to buy a motorhome but the i800 has definitely extended my towing days. Great towcar.

    I looked at the Hyundai 0800, but towing capacity didn't seem good enough for our needs.  I liked the Mercedes Viano better - and this is available as a 3L engine.  In the end we went for a Disco 4 HSE, where the back rank of seats fold flat and provide a great boot space.  With the Viano, the seats had to be removed and stored somewhere, and were rumoured to be awkward and heavy.  I suspect the Hyundai would have been similar.
