Welcome to our virtual Club Week and the first in a series of interactive video forums, hosted by TV presenter, Club member and campervanner, Matt Allwright. Opening the week is the Club’s Director General, Nick Lomas, who chats with Matt about what’s been happening in 2020 and his vision for the future.

I'm watching the video now, is Matt actually on site? as he can't be using the CAMC WiFi as it's not stuttering or having failed connection problems laughing

No searching questions involved as yet.

I zipped to 13 minutes in, as far as I can tell just two questions answered. Usual gripe about none members taking up pitches, and finally one about financial situation, and thanking those who paid up to go nowhere.

What I did learn was that those big panoramic windows in our elderly MH are a far nicer living experience than whatever Matt was in........at least until the weather fined up, and he could open the rear doors!🤣

It might have been enjoyed by a new member unfamiliar with the Club but what happened to the grilling the DG was meant to get? Non members are a bit of a red herring as I can't believe that many would be willing to pay £12 night extra for most Club sites? We have more videos to come so perhaps we have to wait and see if all that time submitting real questions was worthwhile?

Well I found it useful. Decided to watch it on our smart TV and realised it needed updating before it would let me watch UT.😂

Just watched the second video with the head of sites and accommodation. I appreciate this comment is somewhat negative but not one proper question asked!!! All these videos seem to be are just positive publicity opportunities for the Club rather than offering a real service to members by asking those questions we all want answers to? The only positive thing I have seen so far is the DG actually mentioned Club Together!

Bad timing with Boris on the box. wink

I was relieved to see the leaves in the DG's garden moving! Something at least was alive. laughingwink

    I haven't watched as I suspected it would be a "Sycophants R us" love-in.

You are probably right but why all the fuss about getting members to ask questions in advance when none of them were used. Why does the Club treat us  as such chumps? Seriously disappointed and seemingly a complete waste of time! Not only that but how many thousands did it cost to have Matt Allwright hosting the non questions?

Not confident that the AGM will be any better!

I think one of my comments on FB was Deleted User, My view of the Club is at an all time low and I am not far off chucking my membership after over 30 years.

They don't seem to have uploaded the second video to UT yet. Although I have found I can watch it on the club Facebook page, even though not a subscriber, so perhaps that's the reason. It did all seem very scripted though and didn't add anything new.

Just watched the video from the Travel Team. Unfortunately the sound quality on a couple of the speakers was not very good quality on my little laptop. Really just a catalogue of what the Club offers so probably interesting for the new comers but not much there for the experienced. Touched on travelling after Brexit but as pointed out the Club don't really know more than any other informed person.

In the present circumstances it all seems a bit head in the clouds. Reminds me of the earlier video encouraging everyone onto sites when it clearly wasn't a good idea. frown

I'm glad the club has had a good August etc but maybe this could have been said at the AGM with further real time updates.

After watching on UT ..... Agree with most comments on here...I have booked a slot for the AGM on Zoom but don't hold hope of anything new there...even the Chairman and Vice Chairwoman have proposed each other for re-election...

The Club could learn a lot by watching the C&CC's offerings. No hard sell incovlved and plenty for newbies and the experienced alike. You don't have to be a member to watch them.
