However if we ever needed heating on such a site then we would revert to gas.

Heating works better on gas although it does tend to cause a bit of condensation.

Since I posted this I have bought a Morphy Richards Intelli chef multi cooker. Its great for grilling, frying, braise, boil, steam, fast stew, slow cook. It fits just nicely in the oven once the shelf is removed. So travels in there nice and safe. I can cook indoors or outdoors with it. Great for making curries, bolognase, chillies etc. But also good for frying, stir fries I've even made soup in it. You can braise in the bottom and put a rack higher up to steam veg or potatoes or do it the other way round put veg in the bottom and steam fish above it.

It now goes with us on every trip as its so versatile, we can even use it on 6amp sites.

Hi WTG. I took a look at the Remoska. Thing is, we have one of those Halogen ovens and a slow cooker. Can the Remoska do anything that those two won’t do?

Thanks for that. A halogen oven basically uses a halogen lamp (instead of an element) to heat a large glass cooking vessel. Basically, it’ll do pretty much anything an ordinary oven can. I must admit I’m a bit tempted by the Remoska, as it’ll save space, but that would mean discarding the Halogen oven and the slow cooker (we already have both at home). Maybe one day.
