Ramslade site bus service
Hi all, has anyone stayed at Ramslade site and used the bus service? We are looking to go there next summer but need the bus to get around and leave the moho parked up.

Just in case you don't get a response from someone who has used the service recently you can look at the site on Google Earth it should show the bus stops. If you right click on the bus stop symbol it will show you the bus numbers which you can then do a search for the timetable. Many bus services have been reduced because of COVID but hopefully by next summer they should be back from normal.

Look up 'travelinesw.com', Plan your journey, Stop timetables enter Ramslade and then select Caravan club site.
This should then give you all the timetables and or destinations from the site.
You may also find bus timetables in the information room on site if they have one.
Good luck and happy travelling.

Ramslade is a pleasant site but not so good if you're in a m/h needing a frequent bus service. If staying in Torbay the site at Hillhead (a few minutes from Ramslade) has an excellent bus service just outside the site. It connects with Dartmouth via the ferry, Brixham, Paington and Torquay.

Thanks all, just wanted to hear from someone who has experienced the service as opposed to reading a timetable as in our experience rural buses tend to be quite unreliable! Hillhead might be better but we don't need all the facilities they offer and we don't fancy paying over £50 for a pitch in high season!

Hi, without wishing to appear negative just a couple of points re bus services.
What will be in offer next month, never mind next year, may be very different from now.
Also, stayed at Pentewan Sands in Sept and some fellow ralliers had problems due to there being no space, due to social distancing, when the hourly bus arrived and others had to get taxis after being stranded in Mevagissey for the same reason.

You could walk to the Totnes road from Ramslade, there is a bus service which goes between Torbay and Totnes (onward journeys to Dartmouth etc but longer routes.) There's also a limited bus service between Stoke Gabriel to Paington > LINK < which might be of use. We're frequent visitors to the area so know the routes. If you can cope without EHU the site at Steamer Quay is very good, alongside the Dart and good local bus services (and without Covid good boat services too.)
As Allan&Jean say, things are not the same due to Covid and bus travel isn't quite so easy especially in popular areas of the SW where bus passes are in frequent use.
Do you need to go in High Season, many of these places are less crowded in Autumn and Spring.
You really need to look up the services to see if they'll suit your needs!

Thanks all, we might have a rethink!
