As pointed out it's then a two person operation and breaks can be arranged to suit. Although in these situations working breaks aren't always easy due to the interaction with the public. The other club operates a total 1pm system and this seems less complicated after initial objections.

On one couple cc sites ,(unless it has changed?)the staff are not expected to cover all the hours during the day that would be "expected" on multiple staffed sites, as they do not have the contracted hours to coverfrown

The arrival and departure times of Sites (not just Club) was another factor that we considered when buying a MH.

In a caravan, particularly a larger one, all most folks want to do is head off, get there, unhitch and set up. Set up time was still only around a fifteen minutes for us, but it was the not being able to get on Site that was the main issue. Likewise having to hitch up and head home mid morning or lunch time. Our breaks away at the time we’re restricted to two/ three nights away, so tugging the van behind, trying to find somewhere with a car park big enough to park up and visit wasn’t always easy. Buying little MH solved the issue. We are out and doing all the first day, roll into site evening time. On leaving, we are up and off and doing all day until reaching home on final day. Has worked well for us. Do enjoy caravan for long stays though where time doesn’t matter as much. Best of both worlds.

Although, a lot of CLs are very flexible, we have arrived midnight with caravan, and likewise moved off pitch but left it around site until later to head home.

Even on two couple sites there are potentially only three days a week when both couple work together. Even 'our' wardens need days off!

We may also change to a PVC again in the future ,if towing gets to have the "problems?" you encountered,,but then it would be our only vehicle,

But we would have to again ,get used to less space

I agree ,but the hours can be managed better

One couple sites the  "resident wardens"now can now get nearly a week off a month (as i suspect JK is now)when their "day off relief wardens" come on site

Although we do occasionally stop on route and visit things, in general we prefer to get to the site and go for a walk, and in normal times utilise public transport. Whilst I prefer the 12:00 arrival, the 1pm isn't a particular inconvenience, as set up is now so quick compared to our caravan. Even if the sites are close together, as we often call in at a supermarket to restock on moving day,  our arrival time can easily be extended to 1pm.

    Thank you

I have fond memories of my time in mining. Some particularly funny times at PoW where a certain humour that is only understood in that environment. Happy days.

Agree with you in terms of best time of working life. Learned so much.

I've not found the arrival time a problem either but it's easier if it's standardised with the exceptions of one or two known sites like Edinburgh and Coniston. During the present situation I understand there maybe other issues that require local arrival time differences. The need to double check is important at the moment.

So on those single and two couple sites wher only one couple may be at work I guess you have some suggestions for them as to what that better management would look like. Difficult to organise a lunch break if they use our booking times as I'm sure many of us don't bother suggesting our arrival time just keeping the default. Also, even if the staff used this data the lunch breaks could vary across on a daily basis each and every individual site.
