Truma Heating Error W18H

Hi all,

I got an error from the heating over the weekend on my Truma Combi system. It was W18H which is apparently a blocked air outlet or circulated air intake blocked.

The outlets were blowing air, though cold from the bathroom (a common issue I believe), so not sure it’s that. Not sure about this circulated air intake valve though.

Anyone know where this would be on a 2018 Swift Siena (Sprite) 4SB? So I can see if there’s anything obvious blocking it?

Thanks in advance.

Doug

I think but not sure, but is there a vent on the side of the van where the heater is that might be blocked and stopping fresh air getting in for the flame and exhausted air getting out. some caravans even have a cover that needs to be removed before using. have you got one and forgot to take it off.

We have had the error on our Truma combi boiler a couple of times, and also had the boiler blasting cold air our for no apparent reason. In our case, I could find nothing actually wrong with the boiler, other than its computer had gone into "self protect mode" resulting in the error code and the air blast.

In my experience anything with a tiny on board computer chip is capable of tying itself in a knot from time to time for no good reason. I switched it off, switched the van domestic 12v power off and as I recall had to cut shut the domestic system down completely for a brief time. On powering up, everything worked fine again and the error code was gone never to reappear, for about a year at least ...

Thanks for the replies. It’s a new caravan so I guess there is a chance that something could have been left somewhere creating some kind of partial blockage. It does however happen completely at random (a couple of times now) but has been fine the rest of the time.  Switching off and restarting worked for us too Justus2.

I’ll see if I can see anything obvious when we’re out again next week, but fear it might be a “feature” (read issue) with these boilers.

We had the same problem on our 2015 swift challenger sport we had not had it long so we took it back to the supplier and a new circuit board was fitted, it all was OK then a while later we had codes appear that are not in the manual this turned out to be the combustion fan but this time we took it to Truma in Derby after the clueless supplier said it was working fine the engineer at Truma was excellent and the new part fitted in a couple of hours

Oh, ok. This sounds a bit more concerning. I’ll see how I get on next week and if I’m still getting errors then it will be going to the dealers. Thanks for your input.

Hi did you resolve this issue with fault code W18H?

I have a 2019 swift sienia 4sb with the truma airblown heating system and this week while on holiday heating system having a hissy fit and every time fault code W18H comes up,,, I've checked all inlet and outlet pipes for restrictions and to see if blocked and they are good .... I've done a complete caravan shut down by disconnecting 240v and the 12v battery for about 6hrs while me and wife went out reconnect everything then next day W18H came back on...is there anything I can do while on holiday or do I need to take to dealership when I get home ..    cheers mark.
