Insuring a campervan with business use

We are in the fortunate position of having a new campervan on order - due April 2021.

As well as holidays ( primary use ) my partner would like to use it to go to Agricultural shows (infrequently) selling home made dog accessory products.

We naively thought this sort of usage would be easy to add to a standard MH/camper policy but how wrong we were :(

The only company I have found so far who will touch this is Adrian Flux and they want a handsome amount so i'm reaching out to see if anyone can advise on any other insurers who may be able to help.

Just a fraction of those companies i've tried already and will not cover this usage:

  • NFU Mutual
  • Saga
  • Caravan & Motorhome club
  • Motorhome Protect

    Well done for thinking of the insurance angle.

    I've often wondered what cover those MHs we see on telly selling at antique fairs have.

    Yeah tried Lifesure today, they couldn't help us.

    Currently Adrian Flux are the only broker who have offered cover.

    Perhaps nobody else can or wants to offer this type of cover undecided?

    Their standard policy document for campervans didn't use to exclude business cover but didn't use to mention it so it might. Good luck. Give them a ring.

    Dan at Adrian Flux promises AutoSleeper owners competitive and bespoke policies. 

    It may be worth another call.....🤷🏻‍♂️

    Comfort Insurance include business usage, I switched to Adrian Flux with business cover this year because they were £150 cheaper than my Comfort renewal.

    I'm fairly sure Comfort said they couldn't do it but I may have lost track i've rung so many brokers etc ... it's like being back in the 80's .. undecided

    However Adrian Flux will cover us - we won't need insurance till April next year.

    I don't like being restricted to one option as it doesn't exactly give you bargaining power but at least they will offer cover!

    Interested to know if you have EU cover in with your policy?
