Just read that for several countries in Wales.

At least that makes it VERY CLEAR (rather refreshing 😉) to visitors regardless of their accommodation status. Oh that other instructions/guidelines could be so defined! The BBC has a very clear list of what can be undertaken, sadly it wont allow me to copy the relevant text 😤

Stay safe those in the affected areas and safe travels home for those needing to leave.

JVB THE GUIDELINES state you can use the M4 but no stopping. If you have to use it, hope for no comfort breaks or breakdowns.

The guidelines say you may use M4 but now stopping. Hope you need no comfort breaks or a breakdown if you need to travel through the areas.

2nd attempt for this to appear!

I tried, too, Bakers. I can copy that useful info from the BBC App but this flaming website won’t let me paste😤

Statement from Club is already on Tredegar website page, and bookings are blocked. Copied here (hopefully🙄) for anyone who has trouble finding relevant information....

    Site information
Due to Welsh Government regulations, this campsite will close from 6pm on Tuesday 22 September until such time as the local lockdown (for Newport County) has been lifted. If you have a pitch booked between 22 September and 6 October (initially) you will be contacted and advised of other alternative Club campsites. If you are travelling through the lockdown area to reach a destination outside of the area then you will be able to travel through but only if there is no alternative route available.

(Off topic, we still have trouble making sense of this area of Wales, so we always call it the “area formerly known as Gwent and Glamorgan”)😁

    Edit, crossed post WTG, 👍

I've heard it's ok if you hold your breath while going past Newport

Newport is a city and a county, but is no longer in Monmouthshire. Monmouthshire is however an adjacent county but has low incidents of Covid at present and is not subject to any restrictions other than those applying to all of Wales.

Sorry to disagree but Newport is a City with a Borough and is part of Momnmouthshire.

Newport is most definitely not in present day Monmouthshire. Prior to local government reorganisation in 1974 Newport was a County Borough within Monmouthshire ( hence the name of the football club), however the county was renamed as Gwent with some minor boundary changes. Newport then became a Borough along with others such as Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent etc, within a two tier Local Government system. Subsequent reorganisation led to single tier Unitory Authorities, and Gwent was disposed of. Newport was created a City and County in its own right. Monmouthsire was reinstated but only for the mainly rural areas mostly to the East of the river Usk (about half the former Gwent). Monmouthshire has low Covid infection rates at present and contains one CMHC site at Pandy in the North of the county near Abergavenny.
