Wanted, A sense of direction
The leaflet given to me at Yellowcraig site North Berwick, SCOTLAND, states that the nearest Sustrans cycle route is NCN 76. Correct but it also states it runs from Bangor to Conwy,N.WALES!!!
In addition the site info on the website states that the nearest site, should you need one, is Balbirnie, just over 17 miles away. Well it might be if you happen to be a crow as it sits across the other side of the Firth of Forth but not much good if you have a caravan in tow. Edinburgh is just down the road but is shown as being further away.
Could the club not find anyone with a Geography 'O' Level?

The Govt suffers from the same trouble when they direct folk from North Devon to S Wales for COVID tests. Yes, it’s only 30-ish miles across the Bristol Channel but well over 100 mls by road🙄

They did but it was a teacher predicted grade

‘‘Twas ever thus........! The ‘as the crow flies’ rule has long featured with regards to nearest Sites. Minehead to Tredegar was a classic😂

Has the Club changed from “Wardens” to Site Managers? Haven’t used a Club Site since January, so a bit out of touch.

I've not seen any official notification but, a couple of years ago, I personally started to use the term 'site staff' in preference to 'warden' but I'd be happy to see a confirmation of change to 'site manager'.

For want of a map...
1 We got totally lost in some W Sussex woods a couple of years back.
2 We waited for our daughter at Strensham services on the M5, to return one of grandsons after his holiday with us...we waited till she got near to London on the M40...
3 For East Grinstead residents and workers it's probably a jungle out there.

My SIL when a very young new driver got lost on the M62. They had been two junctions across on the M18 visiting relatives, somehow a wrong turn was made, and I think they made Lancashire before help was called......
Only time we have ever been truly lost was in the dark, on Dartmoor. We had gone for a late stroll at Bellever, ended up going further than we intended. No torch. We managed to find stepping stones over River, crossed over and all we could do was follow river back to where we thought the car was. Pitch black, we were on sheep paths rather than footpaths. We let one of our Airedale’s lead us, she hated water so we knew she would keep clear of anything deep. Unnerving bumping into sleeping cattle, wading through thick mud and cow pats, but eventually we reached road. We were never more than 800 metres from car but it seemed like miles. Totally disoriented. 😱
