Tent on pitch

On recent visits to club sites I see an increasing number of transit type vans with no cooking, sleeping, or toilet facilities park up and pitch a tent posing as an awning at the side of the van.

The accommodation is solely in the tent/awning with the van as purely transport.

I am on Merrose farm at the moment and overlooking such an “outfit”

Has anyone else observed similar? (And any views.)

You are right to be concerned, the use of a tent in those circumstances on an ordinary pitch is expressly forbidden by Rule 5a,

5. Using awnings or tents

a. On pitches with awning space you can erect an awning. You may also put up a tent for extra sleeping accommodation, or a specially designed toilet or cooking tent, provided the main outfit is occupied, but please keep them within your pitch area.

Concerned, I would be livid. Contravention of Rule 5, whatever next.

Can you not just accept that there are no pitches of any type on club sites, commercials, or private driveways. it is an exceptional set of circumstances the world is dealing with.

But this really is a first world problem of total insignificance.

The country is bankrupt, millions will lose jobs, businesses, homes and even loved ones.

Just accept that you have been lucky enough to get on a site and enjoy your free time. Its very very precious.

One day this will all be over and even the club stalwarts may find that the new normal is better, even if it means tents on no tent pitches!

Good grief Phishing, I was only pointing out the rules in reply to the original posters request for views. Why would you equate the current circumstances with the need to bend the site rules, there are too many people in the club that think they should only abide by the rules that they agree with and many people exploiting the situation to their own ends. If you don't agree with the rules feel free to join the other club.

My question is why would you want to resurrect a thread which someone has seen fit to close?

My question would be why was a thread regarding a legitimate observation of the site rules been broken be closed.

Answering a question with a question, eh. You don't know that site rules were broken and as nobody bothered to ask the warden, we'll never know.

Ours is not to reason why it was closed but to accept and not query on screen as to do so breaks another rule.😒

My other question is why do you so often like your own posts, Vulcan? 🤔
