Lack of proper CL site information

Hi David, I do encourage anyone staying with us to leave a review on the club website but most either do it on Facebook or Google (probably because its so much easier to do!)
Its just a question of trying to be accessible to anyone and everyone who needs to find us!

That was my point - accessible to all with ease. Glad we agree. 👍🏻

But I can't help thinking that those with the conventional websites would they do the same now if they were just starting out?
Maybe not ........ Unless they actually wanted my business David. The first way I locate a suitable website is through a simple internet search. As I say 'no website, no business from me'.
As far 'navigating through a website, what do I need? images, contact details, facilities and prices! that doesn't take much navigating does it.
Anyway, my bottom line is 'no webpage = no booking'
Not concerned further as all mine that I have used in the last or more years have obviously

Facebook easier You cannot be serious, man, as someone once said.

Thank you Stuh, I am glad you are getting some customers, but Presingoll Farm is just along the road from you and the site there is far bigger, better equipped, and getting first class reviews. Aren't you tempted to follow their example?

Well, I'm glad I'm not alone; I registered once on FB, and found it totally baffling, I consider myself far from stupid or illogical, but I found it really awkward to navigate, so I quickly un-registered. But then I'm not under 60, so perhaps that explains it
To find CLs, my first port of call is this website, I also find the UKCampsite website very useful to find other sites, and more reviews.

UKCampsite gets my vote too, Nothing better than a range of reviews.
Facebook....complete rubbish! I’ve got false account I use when I absolutely need to use it, but I’m certainly not sharing anything about me or my life with them!

Facebook can be fast and furious when talking about forum like groups but in the case we are talking about of a CL owner having his own page it makes perfect sense. It is so easy to update on short notice availability. Very easy to respond to questions and even easier to post a review. Although on the latter I expect most will be fairly basic reviews. For people looking for site information online there is probably a two way divide, those that seek out information by traditional websites and those that use social media. Whether we like it or not I suspect that social media will be the dominant form in coming years.

Hi Eurotraveller, I am confused by your post?? Firstly I have absolutely no shortage of customers and I could have filled the site 10 times over this month. Presingoll is a large commercial site and not comparable in any way to our CL so I am not sure what relevance that it has. It certainly has been nowhere near full when I have passed it
On this thread I was trying to make the point that we have 3 channels being our own website, Facebook and the Club Website and (in my opinion) that is how it should be to cater for different preferences.
In my initial post I was just making the point that I can update Facebook in a second and that information will also instantly feed directly into our own website. For me to update anything on the club website is a very slow process as I cant physically do it.
Less and less people are using the club website as the like of facebook and google are more accessible
