We've got one site lined up for 2021, living in hope, so to speak. I booked and paid a deposit as I know it gets busy in that part of the Lakes and she who hesitates is lost ( as it's nearly always me who makes the bookings.) Anyone else planning ahead or maybe waiting to see how things go with Covid19?

Having seen how many have been keen to get away recently, busy sites etc. Is there going to be the same pressure on pitches next year?

I've made two or three bookings for sites/dates which I wanted as I feel they could get booked up.

Will see how things go into the new year but we also have other commitments which we need to work round which were postponed from this year.

For us, no site booking now, but 2021 will largely be what 2020 should have been as we have 2 cottage bookings carried forward from this year and the holiday to Greece in September which we transferred at the start of the pandemic and which, ironically, we probably could have taken this year after all.  frown

No sites or plans for the Uk, I will leave that for now.

As usual we have our trip to Lanzarote in March for 3 weeks.

Ferry to Bilbao booked for April.

Last year's trip to Spain was cancelled as was this year's. We've been trying to get back there with the van since 2016 always something happens. Want to get places seen while we are still fit and able, not interested in beaches or the like.

Will take next year as it comes. No firm plans. We tend not to book that far ahead anyway so despite what has happened this year we will wait until we feel like planning something.

We have sites for our Scotland tour booked for May / June. Some are those we paid a deposit for this year, which we had them transfer to the same time next, the rest CAMC which I have rebooked. Hopefully they all open next year, five didn't this. In September / October we have a ferry to / from France booked, did it early to secure the cabins we wanted. However, that route (St Malo) is going to be mothballed until at least March.

We have booked a break at Poolesbrook for next Easter with the grandchildren. Other than that we have some overnight stops booked on the way to the ferry next April.

Since DD will be on maternity leave all next year, we will probably have more freedom to travel when we want rather than being there to look after no.1 grandson, but have made no plans as yet as she has a big roof repair in the pipeline and may need us to be there for that.

Would like to go abroad, but " would we be able to get affordable insurance?" was my next thought, as I am now 78.

I think you may be ok for another couple of years.  A friend of OH told him that once he turned 80, his insurance went up by a horrendous amount.  He decided that it was too much, so sold his caravan after many years.  That was with Red Pennant, not sure if he shopped around though, but he had always used RP, so I think he may not have done.

We have done almost 40 nights away in the van since the site opened up again in July just been careful but always felt comfortable in our van. Next years plans so far we are thinking of IOW in July and then just the usua haunts Berwick, the Lakes, Chester, Blackpool and our local weekends touch wood health permitting. Nice to plan

Well quite unintentionally we went for it and bought a new/used static van. We liked ours but this one is a little nicer, and we are having a new decking built around it. Same plot, so same neighbours. We don't get it until March, warranty starts then. Also planning a cottage in Yorkshire to share with relatives and would like a trip to the Lakes in a lovely B&B we know, but won't be booking them until we have had the vaccine. (Well we live in hope)
