Wet/soft underneath floor surface
Our pride and joy (mainly) 2015 Bailey Madrid on pre covid 5th year service report the floor has a lot of damp underneath due to the construction with walls sat on top and the edge mouldings acting as a gutter to any rainwater. Any rain getting behind the external trim or down the cosmetic bits on front or rear ends up on the edge trim of the floor itself and runs onto and in parts into the bottom ply .There is no provision for a "drip" ,something to divert water downwards .
I have been told by my highly regarded service and repairers that it is a common problem with Alutech and repairing the soft bits to as before standard will not basically remove the problem long term .Rain will run down front and back behind cosmetic panels and corners onto and under the floor . First place p/x dealer looks is under 4 corners .
Under Bailey warranty as the damp has not penetrated inside the van through a sealed joint they have refused any claim .Even if it gets into the outer wall skin and ends up on the floor .
Up to this year Bailey had been accepting claims for this I have been told
The annual service specifically does NOT test for underfloor damp , How many of us would be looking under our vans ? I am not sure what to do .
Does anyone else have same problem ,suggestion .
Otherwise Love the van ,big fridge ,shower , alde ,solar panel .separate dinning area. panoramic window.
Was bought to last

Thanks JVB66 glad to hear you had no problems ,seems lots of caravaners we meet have a tale to tell ! (across all makes)
I was wondering if you swapped your vans less than 4 or 5 year old as we had no problem up to last service ,also heard of 4yr old permanently sited van with same issue .

Our Pegasus iv had its 4th service in June and no excessive damp was found by mobile service man (Bailey )and i was there when service carried out
until this year we are normally visiting site on tours which add up to about 200+nights away per year

I have reported several times on this forum the severe damp problem we had with a Bailey Unicorn first generation. Factory twice to repair flooring then after we sold it the buyers had a £5000 Bill for further damp. The problem was lack of sealant between walls and floor but I always assumed that this had been solved in later models. Perhaps not?
