That is what we have done at a cafe in Cromer ,  i think the "not rocket science"is for those who advise they are visiting and those being visited to advise they are having visitors,

i posted earlier as has JK it would not work on club sites

The venues that have made a blanket no visitors from outside will understand joe public

Yep.☹️ I for one trust no one, even members of my own family to do the right thing, the safest thing at the moment. No one other than my Mum and Sister have been in our house since March. That only happened from end of July. We have had other sensible members of family through garage and into garden for visits, but it’s on a strict understanding of what’s safe and acceptable. Some are emergency workers, so in contact daily with Covid throughout last six months.

If it was a more visible pandemic, something that disfigured, I doubt quite as many would be as blasé about it.

I suspect that many, like me and OH, would be unlikely to use site facilities.

I don't think opinions matter - actions do. Some to use masks in supermarkets (in Wales it is not compulsory) I don't as where and when I shop I have no problem with folk distancing

Not at all. In the supermarkets when I shop at 9am on my shopping days distancing is achievable and observed. The majority do not therefore mask up as they might in smaller shops.

I have used one of our local chippies once a fortnight Masks are rare amongst customers but social distancing is observed. I order and pay on line with a collection time. There are only two allowed inside at a time. Customers are well spaced outside.

Folk go just inside the door and either give an order or, if pre ordered say they have arrived and go outside to wait a call. If they have started your order you might be asked to stand at the back corner 5m from door  and collection and three from payment location. Collection point is about 2 feet wide with a gap in the full length plastic screen for collection. Your order is placed in a plastic box there there, the assistant stands back and calls your name. Works well and safely.

I'm not convinced either. I think they have been used as an excuse to reduce social distancing, particularly on public transport. Certainly since they have been made compulsory folk will get a lot closer than I would like in shops, presumably reassured by the masks.

In wales it is only compulsory on public transport. I think that in close environments they are valid as they (in my thoughts) may not retain all virus particles but are likely to reduce aerosol transmission.

We've been on 9 different sites since lockdown was lifted. We've not seen any big gatherings in awnings or even outside. We have seen and took part in a socially distanced 'chat' with our neighbour and their friends. All of us sat in our own chairs, using our own glasses, while swapping info on trips we have been on.

It was explained early on that visitors were not allowed on site, something I agree with. Sites are busy enough without visitors.

We have worn masks when going shopping even before they became mandatory, I know they offer little protection to me but I'm happier to wear one than trust others to social distance.

The problem we are seeing now everywhere is some folk have just forgotten about social distancing, visiting friends and family at home, going to the pub etc it's starting  to feel  normal again.  It's not over yet.

We are same with masks TG. It’s no hardship to put one on for a few minutes in a shop. No plans for any form of public transport. We aren’t bothered about eating out either beyond take away fish and chips.

If as in most cases here shops including takeaways have a big  sign at the entrance to "please wear face mask on entering" why would some as usual think it does not apply to them (unless exempt?)

It’s just human nature JV, there are always folks who have an alternative view. If the guidance is just that, “guidance”, then there will always be some that decide for one reason or another, they don’t need to comply. I don’t include anyone who cannot wear a mask for medical reasons of course.

Wait until a vaccine becomes available (🤞) All the anti vaccers will be out loud and proud.

As I understand it, in relation to shops it is law, rather than guidance, that a face mask should be worn. You can be fined up to £100 for failing to comply without a valid exemption.

The problem is that there is no official  way to prove an exemption, all any who is being difficult has to do is to say the mask makes them feel ill. Stupid really

You are probably right Steve. However, as no one is “policing” it, as it stands it’s open house. Tesco staff I know have been asked to politely remind anyone without, but nothing beyond that. It’s similar to all the other restrictions, guidance put into place since March, lacks any kind of teeth. Too little, too late, lacks cohesion and commitment.

Commitment in this country is to try to "advise" they are in the wrong in the eyes of the law ,which in many other countries is backed up by the automatic pistol that is carried surprised

I don’t understand the need for ‘exemptions’ how can anyone be exempted from wearing something that helps us to save lives🤷🏻‍♂️. I’d be interested to learn of the exemptions that some individuals could possibly have👍🏻

I think it applies to people with conditions that impair breathing, Asthma, COPD, Cystic Fibrosis, Emphysema etc. Perversely, these are the same folks who are most vulnerable.  Many home-made masks are flimsy 1 ply, which is not as adequate for protection as the recommended 3 ply masks. However, you certainly recognise the difference if you wear the latter for long enough.

There's a detailed section on GOV.Uk LINK about this, it's better to accept that some wont be wearing masks but at least the majority can. I was alongside someone yesterday in a shop, she was agitated, couldn't work out the queuing system and hadn't got a mask, I just let her go ahead of me and all was ok.

Keep washing your hands, the better masks give around 33% protection.

    There are many things in life that puzzle me but, if you do want to know about exemptions this may help from the .Gov site;

    Exemption cards
Those who have an age, health or disability reason for not wearing a face covering should not be routinely asked to give any written evidence of this, this includes exemption cards. No person needs to seek advice or request a letter from a medical professional about their reason for not wearing a face covering.

Some people may feel more comfortable showing something that says they do not have to wear a face covering. This could be in the form of an exemption card, badge or even a home-made sign.

This is a personal choice and is not necessary in law.

    Access exemption card templates

So it may be an age, health or disabilty reason and there are also many examples given on the same page.

Thankyou👍🏻. My thoughts were from the position of say someone who needed oxygen fed into nostrils, I’d expect that they would be in the shielded category which would be better that they didn’t venture out due to the mortality implications & Covid. Don’t forget-the Powers that be didn’t care much for the vulnerable In care homes when they were pushing Covid sufferers into them.
