Coming from the north of Oxford down the M40, what's the best approach to Henley towing pls? Looks like most A roads getting towards Henley from either the M40 or A34 have their moments...

Off at Junction 4, down the A404 and through Marlow on the A4155.

The 4155 is not overly wide and those local buses rattle along. Watch out for your mirrors. wink

It still amazes me that some people don't use the handbook.

Sorry for the double post!  The first one seemed not to have registered.

I am sure in the past we have approached the site from Littlemore in Oxford and then across country which brings to into the Henley town. Last time we did come via Marlow, it was ok but seemed narrow in places with an eight foot wide motorhome!

I have recently done the above Club recommended route and found it quite easy & straight forward in my 8m motorhome with a long overhang at the rear. Yes the road from Marlowe to Henley is quite narrow and well used by cars & cyclists but I did not feel there were any safety issues. Just take it steady.

    Regards, Roy

Lived at Danesfield in the mid 70's, and in and around Marlow for decades. Travelled to college one way, brother the other to termini in Reading and High Wycombe on the double decker bus. Only slight pinch point was at the bog and scratch it (Dog &Badger).

Occasionally vehicles approaching Mile End from Marlow too fast and launching off the embankment, blocking the road.

Entrances from Copas farms onto the A4155 are blind, but if driving to the conditions, don't present any real issues.

Come the other way through Reading, Caversham and Sonning with the caravan these days, again no issues if driving to the conditions.

Folk are on holiday not a timetable, after all.

I { <--  singleton  wink  } have used Henley Fur Coats site  and saw no reason why a couple or six should have any problems at al unless you are pitched on the side by the road then you might, I said might, get a bit of road noise. Did not bother me tho smilelaughing
