Lack of communication
I have been reading a number of discussions over the last few days and quite a lot of members have been complaining about not being told (or e-mailed) that the earliest arrival is now 1.00 pm (I am not sure if this is on every site but certainly seems to be on many of them). I am very disappointed that the Club does not not e-mail ALL members with important and/or essential information! They e-mail us information on quite a wide variety of non essential subjects but don't e-mail us about subjects which, in my view, all members should be informed about. To fail to do so, not surprisingly, cannot but engender annoyance and animosity.

I’m afraid CAMC doesn’t excel in communications☹️. It’s been said before.

On recent visits to Exmoor House and New Forest Centenary Site,I had two "Enjoy you visit" or what ever they are called with the new arrival times.
The New Forest had the "new" time of arrival, this differed from the conformation email earlier in the year.
On a side line I have to say 13:00 hrs arrivals are a pain, first started by the CCC, and I can never understand how it helps the site managers at all, with just more and more people queuing at the site entrance.

Its fairly well buried in the web site >here< You have to hunt for it. They send you a "Let’s double check your holiday plan" email, you would think they could highlight what the arrival time change is in that instead fo all the blurb it does contain?

We got an enjoy your holiday email last week. Cancelled in May😂 Got it sorted though, not an issue.
I don’t want loads of emails about trivia, don’t mind updates about very important stuff occasionally. The new later arrival time I would put in the “must know” category.
National Trust have been spot on with their important updates to Members.

I have not yet seen an "Enjoy your Holiday" this year for my booking but I have had a "Let’s double check your holiday plan" Must confees I don't read the "Enjoy your holiday" mails. Generally the prime reason for a visit is not for a holiday and they are of little interest.

Had I not read on here that arrival times had changed for some sites I would have had no idea. I've opted out of e mails but that doesn't mean I've opted out of receiving changed information about my bookings. So thanks to CT I now check the times. Many don't read CT and won't be aware at all about these changes, so I sympathise with reviewers who find they're arriving too early, with, in some cases rather officious sounding responses from the site teams.

We have received enjoy your holiday type emails for our first 3 sites, just over a week before traveling. The arrival time was highlighted. Where there has been a change of time, either due to covid, or things like the rocks at Cirencester, I would hope they would be sent to even those who had opted out of emails.

Evening
I'm afraid our earnest friend is incorrect regarding staff lunch breaks. We take a lunch break as and when we can, often we do a "split" break where one person has a break at a time. Sometimes lunch break is at 4pm!! All part of the job.
I can't comment on the lack of communication but it has been discussed in depth on here before. The reason for pushing back arrival times is because with all the extra duties we have to perform each day it is virtually impossible to have reception prepared and ready for 12.00. That's without a lunch break or even a cup of tea. Groundwork and pitch maintenance is all but impossible too.

I actually wrote to the Club posing the same question and suggested they did a round robin email to keep members up to date but apparently this was too difficult and all the did was to refer me to the link posted by Peedee. There was clearly an unwillingness to accept that a degree of confusion had crept in! Perhaps it would have been better to change all sites to one arrival time rather than changing a few. I agree with others that the quality of communication from the Club is pretty dire, no only in this instance but going back even further!

We know exactly when our bookings are, as they flag up on the iPad. I always glance at the enjoy your holiday one though. I may be being optimistic, but if there is a local road closure I would hope it would be mentioned. The times and dates are very prominently displayed on the latest versions and it would be hard to miss them.

I would totally agree that the club is very poor at communication. However, in this instance I am not sure what else they can do. (Assuming of course they are sent to everyone with a booking where there has been a change) The enjoy you holiday ones I have had so far have had the correct times. For instance Cirencester was shown as 13:00. If I had not read it and used my booking confirmation of April, I would be working on 12:00. Of course in my case I know it's 13:00 from CT.

It does not seem to matter whether emails are sent, changes displayed on the site web page or its discussed on this and other forums a number of members will still arrive when it suits them.
At both sites we used last month because we were sited near the entrance all arrivals passed in front of us.
Despite Blackpool being a 13.00 arrival for at least two years arrivals often started before 12.00 and just the same at Wirral CP which has now changed to 13.00.

It was the same at Cromer it has been 1300 last and is on the booking pages but still there is a queue ,from 1200 , for the (short staffed )site office to open ,
If people have opted out of any comunications from the club, and then complain that they do not know whats going on, even though information is available elsewhere if they look? which in these times iwould not expect to be spoon fed as some expect

If and when I get an "Enjoy your Holiday" I'll check it out to see how prominent the arrival time is. I have oppted in for Club emails after all it is easy to delete those of little to no interest. Surely if "Enjoy your Holiday" contains such important information it should be sent to those who have booked regardless of whether they have opted in or out? Can/will the Club clarify?
I guess there may also be some members who still don't have internet access?

There seem to be two types of email. One I got for my stay at Cirencester "Your Booking Reminder" which gave quite a lot of information including arrival time and the little direction maps. For our future booking for Castleton I got a "Lets Double Check your Holiday Plans" which gave arrival and departure dates but no mention of arrival time or any site details. This one arrived a month before the actual stay where as the "Your Booking Reminder" was about a week before so there is still time for one of those to arrive? I imagine the Club are desperate to make sure that members honour their booking or cancel as soon as they can to allow others the opportunity to book?

I've just had a look at the tick box contact preferences in "my profile" and updated them to see if, in future, I get notification of changes to arrival times etc. As far as I can see "my bookings" may or may not have contained the latest alterations to arrival times on some sites, nowhere, so far have I had a separate communication indicating I need to check if the booking times have changed.

In my case it does not. I just checked our booking for Cirencester, which is now 13:00 and it still says 12:00 - 14:00.

Do you think HO are trying to tell you something, in a very obtuse way I may add.😉
