Dometic fridge whilst towing

My 2017 sprite is fitted with a dometic fridge.

Can someone advise me how to run it off 12v whilst towing please.

I have had it plugged in to the car electrics and switched on the control panel etc but all I get is the fridge 'bleaping' and the fault light flashing.

I've traced the code back to '12v not connected' or 'low voltage' even though the engine is running.

This is exactly the same if I plug it in to my car or work van towing electrics.

Thanks

Not familiar with your fridge, but on ours we have to manually select the power source on the control panel, we have a choice of 230v, gas, or 12v.   There is then a light to show whether it is working.

Even when plugged into the car, it may not stop showing a fault until the engine is revved.

And if you have a car with one of the "smart alternators"  it still may not work  properly.   In that case, turning on the car headlamps may help

You say you've plugged the caravan into two vehicles with the same result, do you know for certain that they are wired to supply the caravan's fridge? My Dometic fridge will auto select its power supply so automatically select 12v when plugged into my car though you can manually select 240v/12v/gas if you want to.

Other than that, are all 12 volt fuses ok? ie is the car supplying 12v and it's not getting as far as the fridge? 🤔

Our Dometic fridge doesn't auto detect but there is a button on the fridge which cycles around gas, 12v and mains.

Try giving car a good rev up after connection.

    Yeah all fuses are good.

Yeah I have those 3 supply options on my control panel but now you have mentioned it I remember seeing a vehicle battery tab on the swift command panel..... I'll have a look at that and also the revving up option.
