i am after any advice or help please.  My husband has recently suddenly died and I am not confident enough to bring my small tourer back from storage in Spain. I am looking for a transporter company to bring it back for me. I know it will cost far more than my 2000 ariva GT is worth but can’t think of anything else to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

    Sorry for your loss

I doubt that the Van would  be worth more than £2,000. Not sure about transport costs etc. But if you don't wish to use it and the cost of collection was around that figure I would offer it free to family first and then to anyone for a low price using some free advertsement websites. There are a number. I have used Gumtree and Preloved amongst others. Some other forums allow free adverts but Caravan Talk such as https://www.caravantalk.co.uk/

Somebody may welcome a van holiday in Spain with less towing. Or as David suggested

Thanks for advice. If I wrote it off I would need to be sure it wasn’t then ‘dumped’ somewhere years later in Spain. Would I just get the Cris document signed to overcome that.

    Afternoon

Whereabouts in Spain is your van stored? I know a very reputable company in the Alicante region who have a storage facility and also move anything to anywhere. They will either bring your van back to the UK or sell it for you for a brokerage fee. Contact Andy or Sharon at www.monstermoovers.com

I work there part time over the winter so know them well.

I believe that caravans quite often get sold on campsites/storage in Spain. From what I've been told folk buy them out there rather than have to tow them from the UK, so you might strike lucky.

I wish you all the best.

I can’t offer any suggestions regarding the situation with your caravan, Michelle.  It’s not something I have any knowledge of, but just wanted to send my condolences to you at this very sad and difficult time, x

If it's going to towed back to the UK it's going to have to be done so by a UK registered vehicle. Otherwise it will have to be loaded on a truck or a trailer.

The Club do employ people who go out and collect units that need repatriation because of situations where the owner is unable to do so, usually connected with Red Pennant. It might be worth contacting the overseas department to see if they can offer any advice.I imagine that it could be a bit difficult at the moment due to COVID. If you are happy to sell it in Spain that might be by far the easiest solution.
