Pitching on the peg
Is it not time that wardens started enforcing correct pitching on pegs. It now seems to be anything goes, and particularly Motorhomers, who seem to think the rules don’t apply to them. We were told that the offside corner rule was there for a reason, to maintain adequate fire distance???

It is either offside rear corner to the peg or nearside front corner. Caravans and MHs can both pitch either front in or rear in.
Any alternative to that must be with the warden's permission.

No doubt there is the occasional transgression, but surely not a widespread problem? I generally don’t go around checking on everybody else, but seems to me from those I have observed that most folks, MHomers or otherwise, are compliant. As a MHomer, I understand the reason for the rule and comply.

We don’t really know what the OP is complaining about🤷♀️ Might be someone not parked up inch perfect, more likely to be a MH parked up with hab doors opening onto what OP might think is “wrong side”. We might get to find out why and where.🤷♀️
At Yellowcraig, there are pitches where you can pitch up lengthways at the back of the pitch, with the marker peg at the central point of the caravan. At one time, when there were more grass pitches, and more space, you could do this if you got permission. Larger outfits nowadays, fixed peg slots.........Club loves neat straight lines.......

I have a suspicion that a few folk are still labouring under the misplaced idea that units must be reversed in with the o/s/r corner to the peg. It took several years for even some wardens to accept that isn’t the only way.
The only place I’ve seen off beam pitching is at Dunnet Bay which, like NEB, is all grass so there’s no firm delineation of the pitches. Some folk were confused and pitched squarely between two markers.

Most folk seem to comply. You get the odd one, however I think most times it is someone, new to the club, who hasn't listened. I mentioned it to one guy a year or so ago. He was just about to put up his awning, caravan totally off the peg. He just hadn't taken it in. He thanked me for pointing it out and moved the van. I wouldn't have wanted him having to move after spending an hour putting up an awning.

I often don't pitch to the peg, but I am usually within 6 inches of it
Just wondered how many offending motorhome there were? Was it endemic or just the odd one one or two. Perhaps for balance a quick check needs to be made as to weather all caravans on site are pitch perfect. If it impacts on you personally go and discus with the warden. If it doesn't impact on you directly leave to those that may be impacted by it. You are on holiday, don't get stressed about it.

Actually seems to be a few that think the rules don't apply to them, pointed it out to a guy that had just arrived, knew the rules perfectly well and decided he was going to ignore them anyway. Usually because they want an awning up and the rest of the pitch, without getting their feet wet on the grass. Sure, there are a few "don't knows" who are always grateful for the advice, but increasingly too many "don't cares".

I assume you know the warden has not given permission for the pitching contrary to instructions? If so, and it inconveniences you or is a potential hazard, speak to the warden.
On the other hand, if it's not causing an issue, I doubt the warden will welcome hearing a moan at this ultra busy time.

As I see it the peg is there to help guide us to getting the firebreaks right. I reckon there is only a slight degree of tolerance in most cases, more particularly at ends of rows of pitches. Surely, if we wish to pitch differently to the plan and can still maintain the 6&3s we must ask first for clarification and help. That's the advice on the site plan handed to us on arrival and just curtesy to do so!
