Hot Oil Staining

Hello good people - I really could use some expert advice! We took our caravan out for our first outing since lockdown and coming home on the motorway the car in front blew up its engine with hot oil spray blowing onto our car and caravan. We have tried different cleaning agents to try and remove the oil splashes from the caravan front panel but had no luck - any advice would be most welcome!

    I would think that a cloth on your fingertips and dipped in petrol would likely shift it as it does with tar. Always used it to remove tar.

    Many thanks for your reply EasyT but the problem is that being hot oil it has soaked into the paintwork....

    Did you get the isurance details of the vehicle or the reg as you should be claiming from them for any repairs. Then let the experts sort it out.

    No unfortunately the car engine blew up and they veered into the nearside lane and being a motorway I kept going because at that time I had no knowledge of any damage to my caravan :-(

    An enquiry to the local constabulary Area Roads Policing Unit may have the incident logged if they've attended the scene.  From what you say, it's likely that the carriageway was also damaged and would require some repair. All they'd need is the time, day, date and location.

    They may be able to provide the details of the vehicle involved if you explain the reason for your request.
