Have you a booked pitch
Just been to local garage for newspaper ( 3 miles). 4 M/H overnighting in layby and police booking them. Most tourist sites in this area are closed to vans and tents, only servicing statics. The massive site at Shell Island is closed all season. The Llanbrynmair CMC site was closed earlier in the week. The roads were exceptionally busy. If you dont have a booked pitch you are unlikely to find one and authorities are clamping down on wild parking. Beware.

Further to my answer to your similar post on the other thread , ,local authorities and the Visit Wales Quango need to talk to each other, with the Quango encouraging visitors to do the Welsh equivalent of the NC500 (and then finding "if"? they want to use authorised sites) they are not open

Did it ever open? The site page says not.
In answer to the OP we always book when touring in the U.K. Even if you normally didn't I would think it a wise move this year.
Local campervan dealerships are all sold out. I hope those buying them are aware of the restrictions / lack of facilities this year, or there introduction to our hobby could come as a shock.

I understand as with the ccc there has been a shortfall in staffing levels (older vunerable staff not staying?) so some uneconomic sites have not been opened, to utilise the available staff on sites with more needs?
some of our retired friends have been contacted for help

It is as it is. I was an ardent wild camper myself, mostly with landowners permission whilst fishing remote places here and in Scotland. There is move away from touring vans to static pitches with some authority backing. It is deemed statics bring in more local income and of course Local authority rates income. Whether the changes in car pulling power is a factor in their increase I dont know. Whatever, touring pitches whether private sites, Cls etc are going to get scarcer.
