Hot water leaking back in to aquaroll
Stopping off on a recent short break in our Swift Challenger I noticed water dripping quite heavily from the Truma Crystal pump outlet which I had never seen before. On site connected everything up, opened up hot taps and after a few splutters water from the hot tap flowed as normal. However that night when I tried to get some hot water nothing flowed just major spluttering and nothing else. When I checked the aquaroll it was still quite full but the tube from the submersible pump was warm. I disconnected it from the van and warm water continued to run freely out of the pump housing.
Question - is there a non return valve built in to the Truma compact Crystal 2 that has failed, allowing hot water to run back from the water heater to the aquaroll. I tried replacing the straight pipe connector behInd the Truma Crystal with an NRV but the submersible pump wasn’t powerful enough to push through it. Reverting back to to the straight connector saw water flow restored. The other curious thing was turning on the cold taps for a while and then disconnecting the pump from the Truma Crystal the water stopped leaking so it would appear to be something to do with the pressure in the hot water circuit.
Can anyone out there help with a solution. Thanks in anticipation.

Depends what boiler you have! You do not say how old your caravan is!Could be Carver Cascade.......long and slim with polystyrene moulded covers ......or truma......round with grey cardboard cover. There is also a non return valve in the crystal water inlet.Once you have established what boiler you have Google will be your friend for life!

there is a non return valve built into the water lnlet housing unfortunatly it cannot be removed and cleaned out the only thing that can be done is.. a....fit a non return valve between the water inlet an the boiler or .. b replace the complete inlet housing something that I had to do last year as we had the same fault try leisure shop direct for replacement parts I used them last year Good luck
