Website site booking down again

I've just waited in a queue for 4 mins to book a site, then told it was my turn and directed to site booking only to be faced with the message "Service unavailable, Sorry – something seems to have gone wrong."

Why didn't they tell me at the beginning instead of wasting my time.

I then tried using Live Chat but message said, "sorry no operators are available"

Does nothing work at the club?

I've just tried a booking, a couple of minutes wait and then a minute's delay to the booking page. So it worked for me but very slow to update.

Was told by a member of staff on site that it's very busy.

I wonder if the latest news about holidays in Spain has prompted lots of members, who would normally go abroad in the Autumn, to stay at home which could mean it more difficult to find space on Club sites and put extra pressure on the booking pages?

The whole website frankly is shocking at the moment. It got a lot worse around a month or so ago, very slow loading pages. It used to just affect the forum, but the bookings section is slow and inconsistent as well now. It’s a very poor shop window for the Club’s products.

Its the over 3000 new members that have joined in recent weeks ,trying to negotiate the booking system as well as those who think it better to be in a local lockdown in the UK that stuck "over there"surprised

Waste of time anyway, get on booking section , put in seven days, all it come up with is sod all
We have been using private sites, and to be honest we have been pleasantly surprised by the high standard,  and low prices

I think you may be partly right, both club web sites are running slow and due to lack of site openings and reduced facilities the pressure must be on, probably into next year too.

However the CAMC site is a front runner in being the slowest...if there is such a race?! wink

This is actually the first time I've been able to log onto the website today frown kept saying my details weren't recognised, no idea why, but suspected a problem at their end, rather than this end.

Also tried Live Chat, got the same message as you did.

And tried to book a site, with the same result.

DK may have a point, I think I heard that something like 1.8 million people were due to go to Spain over the next month or so.

"DK may have a point, I think I heard that something like 1.8 million people were due to go to Spain over the next month or so."

Whether that's right or not it's the way it tells you you're in a queue and keeps you hanging on, then when it's your turn it said there was a problem. why couldn't it say that at first to save wasting peoples time.

Anyway it's working fine now. Until the next time

Agree harryb, I was "only" in the queue for a minute when I tried it, but it must be more annoying when you've waited a while.  But as there were obviously also other problems (I first tried to log in this morning around 10-ish, tried on and off between doing jobs in the house, and it was mid afternoon before I managed to log in) I'm not surprised the message didn't appear until you got to your turn, rather than straight away.

Harry, I have also seen your other thread and can only agree the site and booking facility are abysmal.

CT was my first forum and then my first choice but it’s become very frustrating and is no longer.

No different a few minutes ago with service unavailable due to problem on system explanation.

Expect everything will get worse after most media saying book holidays in UK and even now advising book next year as well as soon as possible with demand outstripping avaIlability.

Cannot see the already fragile CAMC system coping.

I wondered what the fuss was all about but having just tried to book a site for 1 night for our north bound trip in September I found that although I gained access within a minute the site in question technically doesn't have a single pitch available for a full year from September 2020 to 2021. Really?? Yeah right. Booked solid in freezing January? etc.

Normally I would use a CL but it just so happens there isn't a convenient one where I want it so will figure something else out.

    Well done CAMC.

I hope the one thing this shows is that some serious money needs to be spent on a website capable of handling requests from customers wanting to use their services. Otherwise those customers will find alternatives.

Well, to get this thread back on track - I was able to quickly and easily book a site this morning. The site I wanted, when I wanted.

    New England Bay in October.

Do not waste your time.  If you do get on the booking system, and want  a weeks holiday that includes a weekend, the only sites available is where unicorns still roam freely

There are certainly weeks available in September. No idea if the sites have Unicorns. It is perhaps a bit unrealistic to expect to get a week in August at this late stage.

I've just booked a few days in August, could have booked longer but was avoiding the BH weekend.

Good to see the system running well again for bookings. Obviously sites are popular just now. smile
