Whale External Pump Ejecting

Hi all

My whale external water pump keeps ejecting slightly from the socket on the side of the caravan. I have swapped the pump for a new spare that I carry and the same thing is happening. It is not constant but enough to be a pain!

Has anybody had this issue?

Cheers

The fact that it happens with both pumps suggests to me that it is operator error and the pump is not being pushed in far enough, ie until it clicks. The pump should go in far enough for the O rings to create a seal. This will give a slight resistance when inserting the pump.

Next time you plug it in, try pulling it out again straight away. If it comes out easily then that is probably the problem. To remove the pump you should have to depress the top release latch.

Whats the pressure like coming out of the taps as if very high then I would suggest the pressure valve is set to high. just a thought.

We arrived on site last thursday and when we tried the water in the van it was very slow (serviced pitch) and on checking I found I had not clicked the pump in fully and so the flap which covers the socket has a retaining clip that sits on top of the pump, and wasnt located properly so the pump wasnt connected properly. Clicked it in place and all good.

You have not mentioned the age of you caravan but the current model is held in place by sliding the caravan socket dust/dirt cover down over the lip on the adaptor once it is in place.

Many thanks for the suggestions all.

It is a 2018 van and the pump is held in place by the hook up cover latching it in place.

When the taps run the bottom of the pump comes out a few mm. It will not push back in while the pump is running but will do so when the tap and pump are off.

I have a water master gizmo that regulates the pressure.

There is no resistance when removing the pump so it could possibly need some new o rings etc.

    Cheers

Just to add. The cold water pressure is good but the hot water is significantly lower. Not sure if this adds to the cause.
