CL Sites with toilets (Delicate subject)

OK, Time for a delicate topic. With many sites not opening toilet or shower blocks, Im somewhat baffled how people are going on in caravans or motorhomes on these sites.

Ive looked at CL sites but odd though it seems, most do not appear to have the most basic thing that being a loo !

Maybe it's just me, but I find it inconceivable toilets in motorhomes or caravans would be used for anything but a convenient pee, heaven forbid anybody should tell me Im wrong ha !

Are there such a thing as CL sites with a shower and loo ?

You’re wrong! Vans have facilities that work perfectly well. Why pay tens of thousands of pounds for the LV and not use it as intended?🤷🏻‍♂️

Full facility CLs do exist but I get the feeling you'll be more at home on club sites but some of them are non-facility so choose with care.

Yes, there are lots and lots, though I'm not sure how the current situation might affect their use.

Are you looking for any area of the country in particular? You're bound to get loads of suggestions if you let us know! smile

Presumably using there own facilities, I am happy to use non facility sites as a number are.

Indeed there are but weather those facilities are currently open will depend on the site.

Thats why toilets are installed in most most LVs to be used for both functionswink most club sites toilets are open although at this time very restricted access

When looking at CLs it will advise if there is a toilet,

Ah ha! I can give another plug for one of our favourites then - Drake House Farm high in the hills above Clitheroe - AO, serviced HS pitches, toilet & shower, wifi included (plus awning & dogs if that applies) - fab views across the valley to Pendle Hill and plenty of walking direct from the site or a short drive away! smile

(No,  I don't get commission by the way! wink)

Depends on the CL TW. The one that I used this year at Boston was excellent

i agree about non facility sites, read what the site information says before thinking "thats a good price in a nice area" .

Some friends of ours were  Wardens on a  non facility site and they can tell some of the "confrontations?" they have had to deal with because some do not read the information about the sites

But then as they have said the non facility sites tend to attract real LV users ,and most are still very popular

There are lots of CLs with very nice loos and showers. However, we are in exceptional times, so you will need to check that the CL you might choose is opening them for use. Choose your area, click on the loo/shower icon, and it will show you choices for that area. I would have a good read through reviews for each CL, as these will give you an idea of how nice the loos and showers are. You will then need to check with owners that they are indeed in use, as this year some CLs are making pitches available, but some are not opening their shared facilities.

If your needs are such that you cannot manage without a loo, Club Site facilities are open with restrictions.

    Yes.....you are wrong!

They are designed for full use, the only reason you are not doing so is your own preference!

    Your choice .

Why are you even discussing this in the CL section

    It's what CLs are about

That's a bit harsh, isn't it? If the OP hasn't used CLs before and is now thinking of doing so surely we should be encouraging him - it's down to personal choice whether one chooses a CL on the basis of having a toilet or not. Give the guy a bit of slack!  👍

We would pay zero interest to whether the CL/CS has or has not got toilets, we use ours and certainly in these Covid-19 times would not use any site supplied loo facility.

Bringing up children in the "terry nappy" era, without the additional challenges encountered with major illnesses in later life, nothing we might find in our caravan's toilet would phase either of us.

Using a camping loo is not going to involve anything novel mankind has not faced before and here it is dealt with very hygienically, designed  explicitly for doing that job.

We opt for non facility sites wherever possible.  Use our van shower on a daily basis - and obviously our loo, when ever needed, and for whatever!!

Even when on full facility Club sites we are more than likely to use our own facilities.

We havent found it straight forward booking CLs this year - so plenty of people are quite happy without loos & showers being provided.

    Just give it a try.

Just to give you some idea of the number of cl's with toilets and showers go to the header of this page and look in Uk Holidays, scroll left to Book a Certificated Location. Once the page loads leave the destination box blank, scroll down to the filter boxes and tick Electric, Showers and Toilets then click search. The result shows 573 cl's with facilities. They will all be shown in alphabetical order so for any particular area scroll back up and put in a location. You can then choose at leisure and read the site review too.

As others have said, ask the cl owner if the facilities are open

Why do you find it inconceivable?

What you could do is work out the best way to use the appliance for an easy life, and the best additive for your holding tank to limit your "distress".

Then the whole CL world will be open to you.

I find it inconceivable that, at present, anybody should wish to queue for an indeterminate amount of time if they need the loo.

I find it inconceivable that anyone, in the current situation, would choose to use shared toilets or showers in preference to clean and private facilities within their own unit.. cool

IMO it would be decidedly more than "a wind up" if in utter desperation to "go" one's sensitivities forbade the use of a Motorhomes's or the caravan's loo, nearer a "blow up"!!
