Not sure if I've explained before. People with bookings that straddled today had their bookings split because our system wouldn't do it, so all those already on site come in today to pay for the rest of their stay at the reduced vat rate, plus all todays new arrivals. I wasn't needed to forego my rest day so we can obviously cope!wink

Some companies may feel there is no need to pass on the VAT reduction and may prefer to shore up their finances. I guess it is all down to demand for their services or the amount of goodwill they would like to generate.

Here is what the BBC says:

"It is clear that many businesses will not be passing on the reduction. Malcolm Bell, chief executive of Visit Britain, said the chancellor's move was to support business, not help holidaymakers.

He said some firms had reported tourists calling them to ask for 15% off their holiday booking. "My message to customers is this is to help the businesses, not to reduce the cost of their holiday. It is only a temporary relaxation up to January."

Many attractions such as museums, parks and zoos, might also not pass on the reduction.

Bernard Donoghue, director of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (Alva), said he expected the VAT cut would go towards helping venues "repair their finances as opposed to being passed on to customers".

I haven't seen anything official from the Club yet as to what they intend to do, have I missed it?

I know all about the WTD jv. Actually, it's 45 minutes after 6 hours continuous work. We take 60 minutes after 4 hours, is that ok?

they can then be up to date on members feelings

so you're saying that the feeling, views, points.... raised on here represents the members feelings? That is one fantastic extrapolation.

I've said it before but you have maybe 50 regular posters, perhaps 100 at most on here, compared with the hundreds of thousands of members.

Most members will only use the booking side of the club's website and not CT. I would hope that the club looks at occupancy rates and satisfaction on those actually using its services, like people on sites, rather than what people post on here.

Of course they only represent feelings of members on this forum, I wouldn't presume to know the feelings of others. This is the first time I've used this forum for this topic as I can't get any info from the club

    We are still members

If the Club has had high or a good demand for its services, it would make more sense to not pass on savings or only partially pass on these therebye recouping some of its losses. Such a strategy will upset some but how many will actually cancel bookings as a result?

I haven't see anything from the C&CC either.

OK, but that is not what you posted. You posted that if the club read CT then:

they can then be up to date on members feelings

    Thanks for the clarification.

There was a post from Ro up thread somewhere saying that the reduction would apply, I would take that as official?

And also from a serving warden saying the same and indeed that it had been applied.

The caravan and camping club have this on their site. Seems like they seem to have the better club. Extended membership and clear and precise information on the vat decrease.

Then hopefully they will get the same levels of occupancy as this one then?

And of course more people joining them?

Yes I know what you mean, We won't be cancelling our bookings, but would use a reduction for other purposes ie, meals/attractions, further holidays and so on, this is what the chancellor intended for not so businesses could just pocket it, I've said it before, those that don't want the reduction can donate it back if that's how they feel

Jinks, just take a look at the link posted above by Metheven and Corners . It tells you all you need to know.

People often seem to think all info should appear on this forum. It doesn't but all things can be found on the website somewhere.

where does it say 12.5% reduction, says VAT at 5%?

post edit, my mistake if you take off 15% off then overall it is a 12.%5 reduction
