I would think it would be the same type of system used when bookings altered previosly

Here's an idea, if the club makes the reduction, those who want the reduction take the reduction and use it for what it's intended, and those who don't want the reduction, take the reduction and donate it back to the club 😂😂

Ha ha, sorry only just thought of it, I got fed up with those who don't want it spoiling it for those who do, this way they can hand it back and not feel guilty😉

Just listened to Rishi Sunak again, vat reductions are to help people to (quote) " to get out to help out"

No comment from the club as yet? watch this space, seems like an assumed donation.

Interestingly those people booked in for a week from now on , are being asked to only pay up to wednesday .....then to go back on Wednesday and pay the rest . Read into that what you will 🤞

£2.50 saving in a £20 fee.( equivalent to a 12.5% reduction) Site booking costs don't currently show any reduction though.

This is what those on FB are saying they've been asked to do.

A simple statement on here from the club would be welcome

We arrived on a site yesterday and paid up to and including Tuesday night incl VAT at 20%. On Wednesday we have been asked by the wardens to visit reception in the morning and pay for our remaining days of our stay when the 'system' will have switched to charge VAT at 5%. ( There might be bit of a queue as the site is just about full ! )

It is to enable the adjusted price to be implimented as the short notice has not given companies to amend the booking systems

Thanks for the info, it's a pity the club couldn't keep us up to date like you.

    Cheers

I think I might just put my refund money where my mouth is - having first converted the money into fish and chips, and perhaps ice cream . .  !

We arrived at the New Forest site on Sunday for 7 nights , the full site fee was taken. When asked about the VAT reduction were told that the club will refund the difference at a latter date. It was pay up and shut up. Let hope the Club refund system is prompt  but I somehow doubt it will be.

Odd that there are different practices between sites .. you would have expected a standard policy from HQ. However, I do note that the New Forest site has 275 pitches compared to where we are at 93. .. simply impossible to process that many payments on Wednesday morning.. just hope your refund is swift and trouble free .. Good luck !

    Hi

Similarly, we have 217 pitches, 30 arrivals tomorrow and 120 people on site to come and pay. That's lunch out the window then!frown

Following my post from yesterday, just chatted to the club was informed that until full Government policy is received  they cannot even consider the question.  We were asked to contact them again when they have the full details.  So no refund then. Not happy bunnies. frown

I thought this was supposed to be a member's club, do they not read these posts, it's very unprofessional not to put a statement out regarding its policy on this reduction

That's a cheap get out/ brush off, it's just been on the news that the treasury wants businesses to pass it on to customers,. "get out to help out"

No, they don't often read the forum and it's very seldom there's a reply to moans and rants on here so it's really not worth bothering, J1.

The people affected will find out in due course.👍

    Morning

Blimey, asking me for information jv?

So, briefly as it's my day off. There are many more onsite duties to perform now, with more rigorous cleaning, sanitising anything that doesn't move plus the normal stuff. That's the new normal, so arrival times on all our sites is now 1pm. Reception doesn't open until then or there abouts. We may just about get time for a brew and a regroup before taking arrivals at 1pm. Booking in takes twice as long as it used to with one in one out in reception. That's also the new normal.

Staff levels here are fine, thanks for your concern. foot-in-mouth

    JK

Perhaps they should read the forum,, they can then be up to date on members feelings. Personally we would like to know if a reduction on our August bookings is forthcoming as we can then make a decision on whether to book more nights in September, we could just go ahead and book pitches and then cancel if we don't get a reduction, but I don't like using the booking system like that
