Reduced facilities vs (lack of reduced) prices

Well, I suppose at the end of the day you have a choice. If you don't agree with being charged for something you can't have, then you could always go elsewhere. I doubt the CAMC will change its policy on the matter. Anyway, look on the bright side, VAT is being reduced to 5% from tomorrow, so there's a saving

An alternative to Cadeside is Ashe Farm, 10 miles away, £16 or £17 a night, which does have facilities and almost always has space - it's not a CL so not limited to five outfits. They say booking is advisable in peak season but otherwise not necessary.
But have they reopened yet after lockdown ?

That doesn’t make it any less true though.

On CT no doubt; however, it was a genuine comment, no hidden agenda. There are a lot of sites open now where the facilities are open. If it was important to me to be able to use the facilities block, then I'd find a site where they weren't closed. But if I wasn't bothered about facilities, but objected to paying the usual rate I'd find a (cheaper) non-facility site, simple (IMHO )

So what would you do?

My first reaction would be to look elsewhere in the area. If I couldn'tt find any suitable value for money alternative, I would pay up because I do not mind using our own facilities. The other half use the van facilities all the time, never uses site facilities these days.

You mean do the same thing that you were commenting on with your:
Now where have I read that before?
as if that was something to comment on?
Also: If I couldn'tt find any suitable value for money alternative,
That sounds very familiar too, who is always saying that, oh yes me
But excellent, PD I'm glad you're following my advice.

Four years ago Cadeside was £14. A 42% rise in four years!! That is seriously inflation-busting. I shall not be returning there.

but the lack of facilities wasn't originally mentioned (or at least not that I noticed)
When sites were opening again, I remember seeing lists of sites in England, Scotland and Wales where toiletblocks were or were not open on CAMC website. Below info for Wales:
Please note that shared facilities and toilet blocks on campsites in Wales will be closed until further notice and additional guidance is published by the Welsh administration. Waste, water and toilet disposal points will remain open.
I'd have thought that if government legislation stated facilities should not be open, that should be adhered to?

It leapt up in price far more than other non-fac sites. I can’t remember if it was last year or this.
We tend to drive straight past since having a MH as we can travel further/quicker.

When the First Minister announced that self contained holiday accommodation would be opening in Wales several of us CTers here in Wales posted that facility blocks would not be opening, so I am surprised some complain they had no knowledge of the situation.

Only by a select few!

The same number, as it was a fixed price for all for the year, just like a lot of other non-facility sites.
