Reduced facilities vs (lack of reduced) prices
I know it's kind of been covered elsewhere but CBA to trawl through CT at 20/30 secs a page.
We're booked into a club site next week & have received my booking reminder, it also includes the fact that the facilities will be closed due to COVID etc.
Now if I was booked into Hebden Bridge etc ie a no facilities site, I'd pay a lower price per night, however there appears to be no such offer of a reduction in price next week to reflect the lack of facilities! 🤔

Cut & pasted directly from their email to me ....
Unfortunately our shared facilities including toilet and shower blocks on our campsites in Wales will remain closed. You will only be allowed to stay if you have your own on-board facilities. If you do not have your own toilet and shower facilities then you will need to cancel or amend your booking.
Amend bookingWaste, water and toilet disposal points will remain open across our sites network.

I've just found the answer to my question on the Q&A bit :-
The Club will not be reducing fees for sites where the communal areas (including toilet blocks) are closed as the Club is following Government enforced restrictions. Additionally, although the imposed restrictions means that members will be using own onboard facilities, the actual reduction in utility usage (water and electric) is minimal – water usage reduces but electric consumption increases – therefore, Club incurred costs remain constant, which site fees must reflect..
which I think takes the P ..... if the above is true, then why are no facility sites cheaper?

I'd disagree with that, try Steamer Quay with no EHU and a tiny facility block. Always busy and not cheap. Lots of other similar sites we've used are popular too. One of the biggest sites near Ilfracombe offers the all in price, no facilities and it's busy during the summer, why would the club want to reduce prices further?

Don't think the C&CC have reduced prices either. Difficult to tell unless you have stayed at a site before for the same period. Its made even more difficult because their vairiable pricing structure depends on demand but they want £34p.n to stay at their Sandringham site which is not opening the facility blocks. No wonder there are pitches available.

Brue, I was judging that from the fact they are always the last to be booked up, a bit like non serviced pitches. Steamer Quay maybe an exception, I don't really know but I have stayed at the Ilfracombe site and I have never seen it full even in August.

Peedee, the C&CC have reduced their pitches so will be losing income. I read this morning that Butlins in Minehead are reducing to 50% capacity, pre-booked holidays for some are now being cancelled. I think this is a very difficult time for the hospitality industry.

You're not familiar with Cadeside, I guess. No facilities, no other club site nearby, nearly always full and £20 p/n.

We currently have a grand total of 3 nights booked with this club and 6 nights booked with the C&CC just as a trial.. That could well be the grand total for us for the year. We aim to consider any plans for September on-wards later on.
We are more concerned with staying clear of others during this time so will not be using facility blocks in any case. We have no desire to use a shower or toilet that someone else has just vacated as yet. If we don't get a £3 or £4 discount or whatever it works out to be, isn't going to be an issue for so few nights away compared to our usual 90 or so.
The other issue for us is that as we have no intention of visiting any places of interest or cafes or pubs etc, so we may be better just staying home..

I know but in a better position than Exeter (for us) with hetter access. Not just one nighters either. I've seen longer stays and even a seasonal.
The point is it's almost always full. Stover, too, is a popular site and Marazion. The lack of facilities doesn't keep folk away.

I agree it does not keep folk away, some of us prefer such sites but we are in the minority. Incidently just down the road from Cadeside is Cornish Farm, and excellent commercial site complete with MSP, current price I think is £22 p.n. awnings and dogs extra.
