just a question, when pitching on site we are told to have r/h rear corner lined up with the pitch peg. How is it that some motorhomes can drive in forwards? Is there a reason for this?

Is there a reason for this.

Main reason we do it is levelling. Our MH and many others, are slightly nose down, floor level wise. If the pitch rises slightly away from the road, this naturally corrects this removing the need for any ramps.

As the diags in TW's post shows this is OK.

On some sites like Bunree you'll find most will pitch in the same direction towards the sea loch, it varies from site to site and van to van. It's good to have some flexibility. smile

Your caravan van go nose in as well. It doesn't matter what does is the 6m between adjacent outfits and the peg ensures this.

There could be a couple of reasons. As Steve says because many motorhomes are slightly nose down many will park nose in to overcome that slope depending in the pitch direction. Also quite a number of motorhomes have their door on the Continental side and they may go in nose first to avoid being door to door with their next door neighbour?
