We took delivery of our second new Swift caravan last week days before a long planned (pre Covid 19) holiday to Cornwall. As best as one can i checked the shower on handover for leaks having had a shower leak problem with our previous Sprite Quattro EW when new. Two days into our hols and the shower leaks. Now this is a problem that crops up regularly on Swift vans of various types and has done so for a few years. Some have had recalls. As much as we like the van (and the shower isn't the only problem) by now Swift should have sorted this properly. I know all about the warranty so will be back at the dealers in 4 weeks to hopefully get it sorted but i am very disappointed by Swift over this. I really thought lightning couldn't strike twice.

Sorry to hear this. Having had many different marques of U.K. built 'vans, for me it was a case of 'once bitten, twice shy' It seems there are still so many problems, so I'm glad I didn't give them a second chance. I may sound like I'm gloating but can assure you I'm genuinely sad this has happened to yet another loyal customer. I hope you reject it or at least get a satisfactory resolution.

I assume you’re talking about the shower tray leaking? If so,  it’s not confined to Swifts. Our previous Barcelona had a leaking shower tray - fixed once under warranty but the second time it happened it cost over £500 to have it put right because the bathroom had to be stripped out to dry the floor.

Knaus have solved the problem once and for all. The shower tray has an 8” upstand all the way round and the shower lining just fits over it - not even sealed with silicone, but there’s no way it can leak. Don’t know why other manufacturers don’t do it since it’s an easy and obvious solution.

It is the shower door frame which is totally unsealed to the lining. Water absolutely p!sses out the bottom and runs across the bathroom when the showerhead  is directed at the door frame. Add to this the damaged heating pipe, loose sunroof surround, dangling wires, vibrating speakers and rubbish DAB reception it looks like this will be our last Swift. Have written a rejection letter to the dealers (some of these faults should not have got past PDI) and cc’d finance company too.
