Can anyone assist with a query? I have a Lunar Delta 2016 and the front locker is stuck shut on one side only - can anyone advise if the locks open the same way or do they oppose each other on opening? I just can’t remember and don’t want to try to force the key the wrong way.

im stuck for ideas on how to get the half turn barrel to open if anyone has any ideas?

Thanks.

Did that model have a vertical lift front door rather than swing up?

Hi EasyT. Yes, it’s almost a vertical sooner than a swing...

When you say on one side, do you mean the lock is stuck on one side?

If it is like mine then the key just turns a long lever inside against the rest of the locker. When mine has jammed it is when something inside your locker is stopping the lever from moving. See if you can see inside from the non stuck side to see what it is (it was the wastemaster for me) and I pushed it out of the way with a long thin stick.

Otherwise try spraying the lock with WD40 or similar in case it has sized up inside?

The keys normally move in the same way or direction.

On my 2018 model clubman both locks open by turning anticlockwise. I just checked. I suspect that something has moved and blocking the action and a long garden cane to push or with a hook to pull the offending item perhaps. I doubt that forcing the key will help. On my model there are two plastic ventilation grills on the underside that, if desperate, might allow some access if cut away and are easily replaced.

    Hi Cornersteady.
it’s stuck on one side, independent locks. One opens (top right, turns anti clockwise) and the top left is stuck. I need to establish which was this one turns ( c.w or anti c.w) as I don’t want to force the key the wrong way. WD is always the first point of call, it’s had a soak but no good. I don’t think anything is physically in the way, there’s not a lot in the locker but thanks anyway.

Thanks, again I don’t think it’s being held by anything but will double check. The grilles are a long reach, it would be a struggle to get to the lock as they are right at the top but good shout.

Hope it works loose, you could always get a mobile locksmith to have a look.

Post edit, ignore the mobile bit, all locksmiths come to you of course.

also, you do have the right key? Just a thought?

When I had a similar problem I think that the lock catch was not quite fitted right. When you try to turn the key push against the door by the key.

I had this problem on our Lunar and WD40 did the trick. I now intend give both locks a spray a couple of times a year.
