Hi All,

We want to visit Northumberland in early October. Its a place we've never ever been. Can you please give any site recommendations, Club site, CL or Commercial we're not bothered which. Would prefer close to a beach or large dog walk area like a forest etc.

We are 2 adults in a self contained motorhome with a Spaniel who needs to be walked 999,000,000 miles each day (hence the beach or forest). We are away for 2 weeks and will stay at one site (if it was fab) or travel & move a few times. We've stayed at some great commercial sites, so as mentioned earlier its the quality of the site & location that is most important.

Thanks to all.

Try Pippins Walk for a good CL. Get it booked, as they get very busy. Club site wise, it would have to be River Breamish at the moment, as Nunnykirk is not opening this year. Seaview Club site at Berwick is very nice, but your away up the top end of the county.

2 other CL,s; Shipley Barns, & Chillingham Barns, but you would have to use your MH to get too the coast.

Keep in touch if you want further info.

FB, take a look at The Barn at Beal. There are also a number of other very nice sites in the Small Private Sites sticky thread in this section.

For Hadrians Wall area, you could try Whittlees CL.

A number of our favourite sites up there aren’t choosing to open this year sadly.

For Borders area, not far from Berwick, look at Foulden Hagg CL.

Its a big County, and excellent for touring with a MH, even a big one. There are big free car parks all over including in Berwick. The coast is stunning, the castles are amazing and the high Moors well worth exploring. Very friendly place as well.

If you can't get onto Foulden Hags you could try Paxton House, a small commercial site, once a CL,  close to Brewick. There are walks in the grounds & along by the Tweed.

The other club have a site at Beadnell Bay. Across the road from a huge beach. A couple of pubs, shop and fish and chips a few hundred yards away. Seahouses with lots of amenities about a mile. Northumberland is very MH friendly. Bamburgh Castle only £2 for all day parking last time we were there. Suggest maybe starting at Tyne and Wear and exploring all the way up to Berwick.

We also have a Spaniel and I can recommend Annstead Farm, which is between Beadnell and Seahouses.  The site is easy to access and has two pitching areas.  We stayed in the walled garden, which was very nice.

The site is just across the road from a fab huge beach.  Perfect for Spaniels to run and run and run .......
