I've just read on Facebook that a group of lorry drivers are to honour the NHS by having a convoy on the M62 on Saturday between junctions 22 and 30 from 0900 to 1030.

Apparantly they'll be leaving Hartshead Moor services in groups of 10 and travelling west to junction 22, leaving the motorway before re-joining at the same junction then traveling east to junction 30 leaving and re-joining and returning to Hartshead Moor.

I understand that they have to stick to one lane but with all the other traffic it could be interesting. If you're going that way and you can it might be advisable to plan your route accordingly.

Stay safe this weekend

How's that supporting the nhs? Look well if they contributed to an accident by causing a bunching of vehicles, and yes I know we should alll be aware while we are driving etc. Just serms a bit daft to me, to take up a lane, so reducing available lanes on what could well be a busy day, full of people who haven't driven anywhere properly for months?

Why this Saturday? I thought that the proposed support showing for the NHS's anniversary was the 5th.July so any support should have been left until then. However doing it on what will be the busiest weekend of travel for months is madness. What an ill thought out idea.

Perhaps they thought that if extinction rebellion, BLM and beach goers can throw a spanner in the works then we should jump on the bandwagon

A bit of an update. They are expecting 250 trucks or their tractor units.

The eastward leg will also take them through the roadworks at junction,29 where the M1 and the M62 intersect, and of course they'll come back through there on the way back to Hartshead Moor.
