    Thanks for the update.  Did you quote the recent information when you contacted them?  The reply you have is as it was prior to lockdown and I, personally, wouldn't have expected any change but hey ho.

    This bit from the covid secure commitment mentions grocery deliveries to site. Although does not specifically mention supermarket online ones. However, I am sure I have seen the word Supermarket mentioned somewhere.

    Probably not moving the goal posts   more like a bit of the usual port and starboard with the present rudderless ship not knowing who is doing whatsurprised

    Both responses, the one to heddlo posted in the C19 discussion thread (page38) saying deliveries can be made to Sites, and the one to WTG up above have come in the last 36 hours. Probably different responses from different individuals.

    WTG. Thanks for letting us know and for sending on another letter on with revised contents! Seems a strange thing for the club staff not to know but maybe the next response will be more informed?

    I did think that JV. And I suspect WTG’s initial reply from Club might possibly be one of those automated answers to frequently asked questions. But time will tell. The Covid Secure information looks the most recent response to getting folks back onto Sites, giving a sense of making things safe and easy for those thinking about using a Club Site.

    We have arranged Click & Collect as simpler than delivery to site and I don't understand why people want the goods delivered to the camp site?

    From what I can recall, I don’t think the poster wanted to go into a big supermarket. It’s something I can relate to as I have no intention of repeating my one and only visit to a quite small one last week. We don’t have a click and collect service anywhere near us, but I have been able to get a once a month delivery, so we are sticking with this.

    I am guessing no definitive response from Club yet? Yes, or No?

    From the Corvid Covid Secure Statement....Interestingly, Awning pegs are amongst the essential items you can order from reception...

    Using social areas
    At this time all of our shops, restaurants, bars, swimming pools, playgrounds, games rooms and social areas will remain closed. Our shops, restaurants and bars will operate in line with government guidelines.

    A telephone ‘order and collect’ service for essential items such as LPG, toilet chemical & awning pegs will be available from the site staff.
    On-site restaurants will offer a takeaway service.
    Mobile catering units will be available on some sites with a collection only facility, observing social distancing rules while queueing.
    Grocery shopping can be delivered to a designated area on site, following direction from the site staff.

    I have no intention of repeating my one and only visit to a quite small one last week. 

    Experiences in some of the supermarkets seem very variable even within the same chains. 

    I am happy to use our local Lidl and Asda as they are both very civilised.

    Yes I agree. I have done a couple of shops in Aldi early on, which were very organised. However, I did our local CoOp for first time a few days ago. Wasn’t impressed. Lots of signs, stickers, tralala reminders over shop tannoy. All ignored by the people in there. I won’t be repeating the experience in there. I might see what Aldi is like later today, but will walk away if I don’t feel safe. We had a big Tesco order arrive last night, but I want to stock up with some of the Aldi stuff we prefer.

    If we get away later in year, we are lucky enough to be able to carry a decent weight, so it will only be fresh stuff from small local shops we will need.

    So true then the club is condoning taking slots from the needy in tourist areas. Bet it does a lot for the welcome.

    Hi everyone,

    I've checked with our sites team who have advised that with agreement around timing (so we don’t have deliveries arriving all at the same time when the site opens) the site staff are allowing grocery shopping delivered to a designated location on sites.

    You will need to speak to the site team. You can call them by phone before you arrive to arrange a time for the delivery and then you will need to meet the driver to collect your groceries at that time when on site. We will not be allowing drivers to roam around the sites looking for pitch numbers, it comes with too much of a traffic risk. 

    We hope this helps address your questions.

    Given the above stipulations, I don't think there will be many deliveries to site / slots taken from locals. It's difficult to get a slot as it is, by the time you had phoned the warden to check if OK it would almost certainly have been taken.

    I imagine you're right, Steve. By the time one has phoned the warden on site, got a reply and agreed an individual time slot for delivery,  what are the chances of being able to book that same time slot with any of the supermarkets? Maybe it's possible to do it the other way round and amend your delivery slot with the supermarket after agreeing with the warden? Either way round, it'd surely be so much simpler just to stock up before arrival, at least for the first few days if on a long stay, and then restock later.

    There was a time when home delivery would have been welcome. Not sure of its availability back then though.

    When I was suffering with depression in 1997 I would leave the trolley and go fetch the odd item as I had often done in the past. The difference was I had no recollection of where I had left the trolley and I could wander around for 5 minutes looking for it or, worse still, realised later that I had picked up a trolley only to realise that it wasn't mine and then not only did I have no idea where mine was I had no idea where I had collected the wrong one from either!! smile

    Also the times that I knew that I had bought things that, when I got to the checkout was not there ...... wonder whose trolley I had put them inundecided
