Just announced on BBC news - Bournemouth Council have announced a "major incident" due to the crowds on the beaches overwhelming their services. Not sure what extra powers such a declaration gives them. So much for "British Common Sense"!
They also announced they'd issued a record 550+ parking fines for the day - so at least they're recouping some of the revenue they've lost during the lockdown!

Sounds a fun day out. Fights, assaults, folks peeing in gardens, litter, spitting, illegal camping etc.....
Heaven help some of the other resorts in a couple of weeks time. 🙁

When you realise that most of the population will not be going abroad during the summer holidays, many are still not at work, lots of youngsters have finished studying etc etc every resort and scenic area will be under huge pressure this summer.
We're not far from the Dorset coast, during July and August we occasionally attempt an evening visit because it's so busy during the day and we don't often take a holiday at this time in the SW. This year we've decided to take a short break in July, probably not something we'll repeat!

How the other half live!. In our local town there are none of those named shops and no banks either. No supermarket deliveries unless you were a regular customer before the lockdown.
However, your turn will come, maybe sooner rather than later when the pandemic is over and I can assure you you will not miss them. We now use a click and collect service from a distributor who, prior to the lockdown, only supplied local hotels and guest houses. The quality and prices are far far better than those offered in the national supermarkets. At least little good has come out of this situation.

We’ve had it all in our little seaside town. On the beach at just gone 8 this morning and all sorts of people dossing down in cars, tents on the beach and on benches etc.. Tons and tons of rubbish, a lot of it take away wrappers and single use plastic. I’ve always been more than a little anti cctv and speed cameras but after the behaviour of some of our local people and visitors I’m starting to change my mind.
For sure I won’t be going anywhere near a pub even if it means missing out on my favourite

Not sure if any of this would be legal, you could get tested on a monday for corvid-19 prove negative but then contract the virus on a Tuesday, why dont you do 1.5m apart that is what we did today in the pool, as BJ said we need to be sensible.

Not new for Bornemouth even on a regular Summer the police have blocked the main road into Bouremouth on a number of occasions because all car parks have been full and the roads just could not handle any more traffic, now with more people doing early staycations as a result of corvid-19 and of course the glorious weather, the inevitable has happened.

Just booked a 5 star country retreat for four nights at the beginning of August, small riverside village within walking distance. I hope it is as quiet as I think it will be. Might go on elsewhere after to turn it into a 7/10day break..

It's Murphy's law (am I still allowed to say that?) That the week after we cancel our bookings for the year camps are allowed to open, but our holidays are usually spent on days out, visiting towns and national trust sites and a lovely pub lunch. We are both of a certain age where it's just not worth taking the risk so it's a staycation for us this year. Stay safe guys

Well after seeing the disgusting scenes in London & Bornemouth maybe all bets should be off and we return to lock down, how , can you justify jumping up and down on a police car , smashing the screen and rendering it almost to scrapage, that is pure vandalism, nothing to do with the pandemic.

After watching the news this evening,2 things stuck me ,1 there’s a lot of people out there who don’t know what social distancing is ,and 2 there’s a lot of people who don’t care about the planet ,by leaving their litter on the beach
At least we will know who to blame when the second wave kicks in !

Not that it will affect us, and I suppose nothing the club has done or will do in the current situation should surprise anyone, but I am truly shocked if the club is going to collude in allowing still relatively hard to get delivery slots to holiday makers at the expense of locals, many of whom will have genuine need of the service.

Your right HD unfortunately around here some people around here have broken lockdown and distancing from day one. But then there’s always people who always know better and never think it will happen to them. Again since the lock down both rubbish and dog mess has increased

Reading the full Advise from the club ref site supermarket deliveries ,the "designated area" is not it seems inside the gates, as it says NOT to your pitch and may mean meeting the delivery at the site entrance ,which could be "interesting in bad weather

If they are that needy surely they shouldn't be going away onto club sites as the situation is at the moment.
