And in those days a whole armfull of blood was donated
A weekly "briefing" might be in with a chance of getting an expert in their field to "Brief us" in a way the Govenmentt want , rather than how several have been "sidelined" with their true take on the situation

sensible idea, but you only need to look at todays newspapers, dont need to take my own photos, to see that coronavirus has been forgotten about, and those still advocating social distancing etc are probably in the minority, and there will be no way back until such time that tradgedy strikes again, but lets hope this does not happen and we can move forward.

I expect most of us have now understood more about the factory outbreaks where workers are living in close proximity. I read there were 16 migrant workers to an accommodation room in Germany and migrant workers are sharing accommodation in the UK. Also the hospital staff accommodation in Somerset proved to be a start point emerging rapidly all over the hospital. It might be that outside gatherings are not going to produce the spikes that inside gatherings will. So it's more to do with indoor spaces and close proximity where covid can flourish.

Whilst the living conditions of the workers are probably a concern as obviously close proximity helps spread the virus the greater concern is why it is affecting meat processing and one theory is that it is the cold conditions that are proving a breeding ground for the virus. I suppose the real danger point for the general population is when we all start to move "indoors" as autumn approaches and it is then we will have to watch for any spike in the general population. Perhaps by then we will be wiser and subconsciously taking precautions that we didn't earlier in the year?

I tend to agree. Obviously the daily briefings were not really sustainable on a daily basis but I would have thought a weekly update would be useful if only as a reassurance.

True - but how many folk will consult the Web for those statistics? The daily briefings were indeed becoming very repetitive but at the very time, with the easing of the lockdown, that the "stay alert" message needs to be continually hammered home, it does seem perverse to drop them all together.
Maybe ministers were getting fed up with having to be put on the spot by the Q&A sessions.

I suspect those that are inclined to ignore the rules don't watch the briefings anyway.
I took my better half out for a walk at a local beauty spot yesterday, the first time she had been out since mid March. It was noticable that it was the older persons who kept their distance more than the younger ones. The disabled parking bays were empty as well which is most unusual.

I wrote to the Club about supermarket deliveries to sites as we would like to go (if situation is still ok!) on a 2/3 week trip sometime in September, but without going to supermarkets. Apparently they are now allowing deliveries so I thought it may be useful to put on here - please see portion of reply ...........
“To confirm, grocery deliveries will be permitted on our UK Club sites as long as you arrange that in advance with the site staff. The delivery will need to go to a designated area of the site, to be confirmed by the site staff, so the delivery driver won't be able to take it to your pitch....this may mean meeting them at the gate or near the entrance. .....”This is great news for us, so relieved I won’t have to brave shopping.

Heddlo, I mentioned that deliveries could be used on sites on another thread. But beware delivery facilities are booking up well ahead due to increased local demand. A click and collect slot might be slightly easier. I just about scraped in a delivery to take on holiday with us before we hope to go away late July and we'll hopefully avoid food shopping too.

Remember also that more rural tourist spots don't have the same amount of large scale supermarkets found in towns and cities and asking for deliveries at present will be straining the system further. Unless you want a 6 am in the morning delivery, there are usually a few of those spare... site users will love you too.

OMG. I'm sure you've seen this. Not only are people dropping the 2m rule in advance, they are doing what they want - as stated by others, earlier

Reminder......anyone who SORNed their MH, early in lockdown, don’t forget to unSORN it before heading off!👍

Definate plus 1!
We haven't set foot inside a shop since lockdown commenced.
Despite what BJ & co are spouting there's loads of people still having to shield for a good while yet.
Where we live there is only one local supermarket that delivers and then only once a fortnight due to local demand.

A certain M&S foodhall here in Cornwall had no queues yesterday , a young man at the door cleaning trolley handles, sanitiser available for all, no customers or staff wearing face masks, and people of all ages up to the mid 80's age group shopping personally. .
Ho, ho we live dangerously down here!

glad it's joking matter to you, some are not as lucky

Until July 4th when the tourists arrive.
Hope people have got their vehicles serviced too the M5 a week on Saturday could be a bit slow going if not.
The scenes at Bournemouth and other Dorset beach resorts have been horrendous in another week's time it will be open sesame in places further afield.

Good luck for 4th, my little weather App is saying...take a brolly. North and South. Still, it might be safer than baking on the M1/M4/M5 tarmac.

They're already here on the east coast and have been for some weeks. Apparently the caravan parks around here have been telling owners that they can return 'as long as they keep a low profile'. They're easy enough to spot in the supermarket and around the town, but I won't go into detail
Yesterday, Ros was in our local Tesco's and heard one of the assistants say to a customer "thank God it's all over and we can get back to normal"!!
What hope have we got with idiots like that around?
Yes. we are off on the 4th - to a very quiet and large CS where we can be well away from anyone else and the 'touristy' bit is going to wait for some time to come. Sorry, but I won't be doing much to help local economies - not until people start to see a bit of sense.

Club members with caravans may be waiting for 4th July but others aren't. Motorhomes in numbers are rolling down the A30 . Many parents are still furloughed and their children are still out of school. The holiday season here has begun.

And if you fancy something different if you manage to get abroad - brothels are due to open in Austria next week. They are already open in Greece, with the following restrictions (from BBC website)
“Those in Greece opened last week. Rules brought in by the Greek government include card-only payments, a time limit of 15 minutes per customer, compulsory face masks and workers taking a list of clients' contact details in case they need to be traced.”

i went for my usual click and collect last Tuesday and our local Tescos has removed the queue system.. Not been able to get a delivery for three weeks think they have been running them down from a peak. They still might be policing the number in store?
