Can i ask why Morvich is closed,  I tend to head to the west coast and its my favorite site one of the few campsites here that allow tents. I'm gutted.

Did you not get the email! FG? All available info can be found on the website - same link as I posted in your other thread.

I don't think either of those replies answers the original question which, incidentally, I would also like to know the answer to, namely, 'Why have the club decided not to open Morvich'?

The email stated these reasons for some sites not opening:

    • Sadly, because we were required to close our sites in March we have not been able to carry out our usual induction and training programme for new assistant site managers at the start of the season
    • Some staff who are clinically vulnerable and it is not deemed safe for them or volunteer staff to work at this time
    • Campsites on racecourse and other facilities cannot be opened because the landlords’ or owners’ facilities and accesses are closed. We have therefore allocated our teams to the campsites with most occupancy taking the above into account.

I'm afraid it was the best I could do.

Any further info needs to be obtained direct from the club.

I would think it is to do with the more remote Sites, and the no facilities sites, being less used and less profitable.

All this extra cleaning of comunal areas will have to be done by someone. Rather than open sites that would have a short and unprofitable season it makes sense to me to redeploy the staff to sites that can be kept close to capacity all through the available weeks.

That seems clear enough to me. I agree FrosterleyGrahams - it's our favourite site too but these are exceptional times. It'd better be open next year as we've already booked!

North West Scotland seems to have attracted particular focus for site closures for 2020. CL's are relatively sparse in that part of the world too.

Not just the NW cyber, Altnahara and Clachan are also staying closed, and in the CCC they are not opening Inverewe, Nairn, Glencoe, Oban, Craigellachie, Jedburgh, Lauder.....May have forgotten some.  Also some sites in the north of England not opening.

Makes staying local much more difficult.  One could be forgiven for thinking that English holidaymakers are being given priority!

That then means that getting a place on one of the CLs is going to be even harder.yell

P.S. / Edit :~~  I still consider Altnaharra / Grummore to be in the North west wink

Not even many CLs to start with!

We are not away till mid August, hopefully, heading north, have booked 2 Club sites and hoping to use 2 CLs but have not booked them as we are not yet sure whether we will be able to go away, or whether we will be needed for childcare.  Do not want to book and then have to cancel.

Scottish schools will be back by then, but the English ones will not, so it  may be quite busy.  Was going to book Morvich till I saw it was not opening, think Kinlochewe is also closed.

Our next trip out is not till Late September, so things should have quietened down by then.
