One of our problems is that we keep the caravan in storeage, and there is no water supply. We end up by taking containers of water to the storeage to do the clean. However, cleaning the roof is 'something else'. We never manage to do it very successfully.
Quite often, we 'top up the cleaning' by using One Dry Wash. I noticed that Bailey are advertising a new 'dry wash' cleaner..... "DRY SPARKLE WATERLESS WASH". Has anyone used this? I would be interested to get feedback.

No, but used the ALDI waterless wash, excellent stuff, cleans and polishes. You need a good supply of microfiber cloths.
Dont use on the widows though, really cleans them but leaves a haze that takes ages to polish off.
Halfords has a choice of dozens of waterless wash products, looks like Bailey are jumping on the bandwagon.
Never cleaned the roof of any van.

The roof is always the worst bit. I prop a ladder against the side and work my way along. The tricky bit with a MH is the bit over the cab as it is difficult to prop the ladder close enough to the front of the roof to reach the bit above the windscreen.

Our storage is well away from trees, therefore when we had a caravan the roof was cleaned once a year, along with the rest of the van when it was serviced. Well worth the £30. For the rest of the year we gave the sides a wipe off on site and also occasionally used dry wash. The original one. I bought a large supply at the NEC one year and still have some left. Now we have a MH, we can get it home to clean. I use a step ladder and an extendable brush that can be connected to a hose. I can reach everything from the pavement side or the back, so don't get run over.😂

Caravan roof cleaned once a year and before our first outing, string mop with a bucket of hot car wash. Up the step ladder, wet roof with the hose, dip mop in bucket on the ground, swing mop up onto roof and off I go, then rinse down with the hose. I find a string mop holds a lot of 'wash' and after first wetting the roof goes a long way before it needs dipping again.
Rest of the van is again done with car wash and hand brush, black streaks I found difficult to remove using the recommended remover but a small amount of WD40 easily removes them before washing.

Mine is stored at home and I clean the roof at the beginning of the year with a long-handled brush, whist standing on a platform. I use Fenwicks Caravan cleaner, which if instructions are followed, works really well. Once done and the roof dry, I apply a couple of coats of their Bobby Dazzler Shield, which is a paint sealant and takes 2-3 hours to cure. It's very simple to apply (like dusting with a dry cloth) Some people then apply polish after it's cured but I find it repels dirt and bird lime really well, making the cleaning task fairly simple the next time.

A timely post as I cleaned my caravan yesterday.
My caravan was treated with Supagaurd from new so I use their PH neutral shampoo and at three years the body work looks as good as new.
I wouldn't dream of trusting the roof to walk on so its extending brush & step ladder, once or twice a year. May not be necessary but I reckon a shiny white roof keeps the caravan cooler in the summer.
Never quite certain if I am supposed to mention brand names in a post but I use Williams waterless wash & wax but I don't trust it not to scratch the dirty caravan so I only use it to get stubborn marks off and add some protection after the caravan is clean, I have found that any white haze that has been missed is easily polished off. As mentioned by Phishing, Use plenty of microfibre cloths (tear the labels out before use) particularly for polishing off and try to find decent size & quality (I use Ideal World ones). Once they have had the product on them you will never get it out even after washing so I keep a pile (Red & Blues) just for wax based products.
The biggest annoyance, which I am looking for a solution for, is the black (mould) spots in all of the vans sealant edges it ruins the look of an otherwise presentable beast any ideas??

We keep our van at home so can clean it whenever needed. I give the roof a good clean once a year and normally find that is enough. When we bought our current caravan new three years ago we paid to get a protective coat put on the bodywork that was supposed to stop black streaks and make it easier to clean and to be fair this has worked and this van is much easier to clean than our previous one. To clean the roof I just set up the ladders and use a long brush that I bought this enables me to be able to reach every part of the roof. The rest of the van are easy to clean. We normally give it a rinse after every 2-3 trips away so keep on top of it making it easier to keep clean. Just as a side note we visited Roper Caravans in Yorkshire a few years ago and bought some oh their own brand caravan cleaner and found it to be the best we have ever bought every time we are down that way we stop in to buy some
