I would think, as with the date, it is planned to open them. However, who knows what restrictions may be placed by the authorities in relation to shared facilities. They could make it untenable. Same with the numbers, I am sure they are planning to open with as many pitches as are allowed. But what will be allowed?🤔

If you read the announcement that has been issued from the club about site openings it does give it seems the latest ideas as per coronavirus including public areas

Although they are obviously planning to open common areas. The use of the word could, clearly does not mean that it's a done deal.

Most, if not all of our common areas will be open with social distancing measures in place. This could include toilet blocks, laundry, information rooms, water and waste points.

Although some will say club sites (wrong usually)are clones of each other ,the facilities are very rarely the same on any site and some with more than one block if expanded will not be the same

With the numerous amount of sites we  (up till this year) use it is only the very latest upgraded /new sites that  they are similar ,

With that in mind some sites will be very difficult to open the facilities with social distancing in mind ,

Even more so as it seems by the negative posts on here that some think that there are not enough toilets/showers between 0830and 1030 ,although there are normally at least another 21hrs when they can be usedwink

Riggers the most sensible post l have read in long while over covid 19, fully support your view. Time to get the country back on its feet, China way head of the rest of the world (l wonder why). Just out of interest halfway through watching Downton Abbey series for the second time last night episode was at the point of the spanish flue, here in Manchester l believe millions died, it fetches it home to me how great our NHS was through this pandemic, l know mistakes were made early on but the british public pulled together once again when the chips were down. My thoughts will always be with those that lost their lives through this horrible virus

I suspect there will be a fair number of caravanners who will not use the site "facilities" anyway now, regardless of assurances that they have been cleaned for an hour after the previous user. Most designs of caravan in recent decades have included some space for shower and lavatory equipment although I have read many times on forae (or "forums" if you didn't do Classics at school) of them being used for all sorts of other purposes.

This may be why many designers have been trying to minimise the amount of space taken up such equipment, with some designs appearing to have a larger fridge/freezer than washroom.  I do hope those who influence caravan design are taking notice that there will likely be a big increase in use of on-board facilities and realise the selling point it can be for their new models.

Rather than shun them, I wonder if the most desirable pitches on sites will now be close to the chemical toilet emptying ponts?

I don't think so, I'd keep well away from CEPs.

We will be using our own shower and washing facilities but will use the toilet facilities using our own ppe when we visit, gloves, sanitizer, face mask and antiseptic wipes. l have every confidence in the wardens to cleanse and sanitize the amenity blocks and police the use of

Hang on Heethers, the max population of Greater Manchester is currently around 2.5m and in 1918 was around 2m....and as with all things media, poetic license is applied for dramatic effect/response.....the actual deaths contributed to the Spanish Flue outbreak, in the whole of the UK, was in fact a total of 228,000....50m worldwide.  You can read about it by clicking this link.. Spanish Flue

Interesting comparisons...health service..as it was, overwhelmed , med students volunteering, health workers working all hours etc etc..

Sorry l have it wrong and stand to be corrected. l was told by my Grandfather millions died and probably assumed when young it meant our country, even so plenty did die which in its self was sad, my grandfather did say their was not much reporting of it and when it came to the towns people accepted it and hoped none of their families contracted it. With to days science we hope we will get a vaccine to prevent this awful loss of life, if we act responsible we should be able to defeat it and carry on  as before, we have to otherwise the consequences of staying in lockdown would be catastrophic

Whatever the standards of cleanliness you'll be using communal facilities at your own risk and the possible risk to others including the wardens.

I hope people will be able to get away and have breaks but I also hope they keep safe and well.

Just going by the opening of dentists, the water spray seems to be the biggest issue. I'd think similar but in a far larger scale for showers 😱. No motorhome at the mo so no dilemma for us. But as the showers and WC's are usually combined........... unless showers are closed the issue will be present regardless.

The answer is listed in FAQ's

What about communal areas, such as toilet/shower blocks, dishwashing, food preparation and laundry facilities?

We intend, government legislation allowing, to open all toilet blocks and communal facilities on those sites that have them.

There will be restrictions on the number of people accessing all facilities at any one time and this may cause queues. We ask all members to be patient with each other and our staff, to follow social distancing guidelines and we highly recommend if you have on board facilities to utilise these wherever possible to support the Club through these unprecedented times.

The last part (highlighted) answers the question of, will there be any reduction in cost. NO, the facilities are open so if you choose to use your own then that's up to you.

I find it strange that there are no terms and conditions attached to bookings.

    For example:-

1 All members must use their units own facilities for showering, toileting, and washing up.

2 All persons staying in the unit must be from the same household.

3 No visitors allowed on site.

If you can think of any more feel free.

We have booked, we did so on a gamble a three weeks ago that sites may be open in July, but we still expect to see some conditions in place on arrivals for example, or any of the listed above.

Reassuring to note that Berwick and River Beamish have been put back under English control today by the Club so even if Scotland doesn't open to tourism there's 2 'Scottish' club sites you could visit.
