    So if there was no gas bottle in van then how would you then get a balanced weight left to right ?.Doesn't that mean you have 70kg more weight on the opposite side when the van was delivered. undecided

    We are talking here about the caravan in its ex-works condition. Ideally, the caravan should be designed so that heavy items that are not a permanent fixture can be located close to the centreline. Although this is not always possible, the owner still has the opportunity of correcting any excessive wheel load variation by appropriate payload weight distribution. Besides, two gas bottles, although heavy, weigh a lot less than 70kg.
