Booking system
I guess we are all chomping at the bit to get out in our prides and joys and so i`ve been checking out a few sites for some weeks away in the coming months
Is it just me? who thinks it irritating when you put your dates in on a site to find you cannot book a full week because there are 2 separate nights in that week that are not available
or you can`t get a full weekend because the friday night or the saturday night are showing unavailable
love to here other peoples points of view

It's partly caused by those pesky folk who have to work Monday to Friday and then have the nerve to want to spend weekends away in their vans. Whatever next, it's simply not good enough!😤😛.
The other reason could be people booking stays that cover part of a weekend but, either way, it boils down to the fact that someone beat you to it. Tis life and I don't see a way around it.
So, no, not irritating but quite understandable and the thing to do is to book your stay, particularly at popular sites, much earlier. In all honesty, it's a bit late now to be booking sites for the next few months when bookings have been available 12 months in advance. I think most of us guessed there would be a big rush for pitches this year with folk having lost 3 months use of sites. It's the early bird etc.......
Good hunting!

Broaden your search. There are some good commercials, often cheaper and CL's which are definitely cheaper.

It's often worth it to keep checking the booking calendar for sites you are interested in as cancellations are often made and slots then become available. Especially in the run up to the 72 hour cancellation deadline in my experience. More often than not I've been able to book weekends especially at the last minute.

It does depend on where you want to go and of course where you live / how far you want to travel. However, there is plenty of full week availability at lots of sites for August and September. Of course the more popular ones are booked up, that would always be the case this close to the main holiday period.
A particular favourite of ours, Cirencester Park, has full weeks available for the last two in July and all of August and September. Other sites are also available for full weeks.
Oh should add, I am talking about standard pitches. For the service type you will have to be much quicker off the mark.

Surely it's good fortune rather than an irritation to get a last minute booking?🤔 Glass half full I reckon👍
