We recently asked some of our members which Club Sites they're most looking forward to visiting, and as part of #EnglishTourismWeek20 we've pulled together your top 5 English sites...here are the results:
The Sandringham Estate Club Site

Are there any updates about moving forward Rowena and what CAMC is planning? Thanks to a member posting details on here many of us saw a video interview with Nick Lomas and two people who run a caravanning web site. When will we officially hear further detailed information?

We have been to all of the sites listed, although a long time since we have been to Hawes. Whilst they are all nice sites our decision to visit a site is based on what we can do from them. One site that surprised me was White Water Park because I thought it was very well designed. I even liked Seaview at Berwick because of its wonderful views although it wouldn't win prizes for being the best designed site in the network, I didn't even mind the trains!!!
As for this year who knows as for us it just doesn't depend on when they open but on a whole host of other aspects mainly around safety of using not only site facilities but those in the immediate area around the campsite like buses and places to eat. I doubt we will be going anywhere just to sit on a site.

Good to hear people enjoy the named sites. At the moment if I had to pick a club site (apart from CLs) I'd be going for one with a view and good walks, not much else for us at the moment. So I'd probably say Plymouth Sound or St Agnes as being near the mark and not too far away. Weather dependent too, I'm imagining it being like this but by July, who knows?!
But I would like to know how the return to sites will be managed and be able to read the details on the CAMC web site first.

We can't confirm the finer details yet as the restrictions are as they have always been. We hope that with the next change that the Government announces with regards to the Leisure industry, we will know more about how Club sites and facilities will be. We’re continuing to work with other industry bodies to ensure best practice operating, cleansing and safety protocols are developed for when we are able to reopen our sites, which will take into account current Government guidance on social distancing

I haven't been to the last two. Of the five only Broadway would be on my list. Sandringham has changed since I was last there so perhaps its now better than I remember. Chatsworth is not accessible to me because of the risk of grounding on the huimbacked bridge. I would prefer Bolton Abbey to Chatsworth but again access is a problem.
For my first trip I am going to gamble on a spur of the moment booking for a grass no electric pitch not too far away.

We have been to all the sites that Rowena lists and have no plans to return to any of them anytime soon. We only have 2 sites booked at the moment, both in November for Christmas markets and even if those markets do indeed go ahead, our feelings at the moment is that we are likely to cancel them nearer the time. Between now and then we have no plans at all, our van is currently declared SORN and we await the fallout from the lifting of restrictions and likely second peaks in the virus. If or when we do go away, it could well be to the least popular, least desirable site we could find not too far away just to test the water. For the moment, our planning ahead days are completely in limbo. We will reconsider once we see how things go in the weeks and months ahead.

We've visited all 5 on Ro's list and would be happy to revisit any of them if we were still touring in a van. But first we'd be heading for our favourite CL at Drake House Farm.
We've booked a cottage at Grassington for July (hopefully) so will no doubt get to Hawes then.

Best chips we ever had in Hawes
and are booked again in December.Going to the other club site in Sandringham in July £34 for 3 nights a bargain so long as we are allowed. Bit more open than the club site and less regimented from memory.
Chatsworth Park Club Site would not be bothered, find it very claustrophobic and dark.
Castleton Club Site is great and one we have been to a few times, great walk from there up lose hill along the great ridge then Mam Tor. Great at Christmas with all the trees.

We too have been to all the sites Rowena listed, and apart from Sandringham, more than once. However, at this moment in time we've no desire to rush back to any club sites, preferring to use CLs instead for the foreseeable future.
We wouldn't want to use the more popular sites for some time yet, we think that once sites can open they will be pretty full, besides which we don't use club sites in July and August in any case.
We'll wait and see.

I agree with you about no toilet block sites but you'll have to pick another as Cae Mawr is in Wales. Maybe the one at Totnes or Cadeside or Bromyard Downs?
We need more of them. Look at the advantage of no block with this virus. Removing some of the common areas for catching the virus.

Our favourite two are Kendal and Cirencester for pretty much the same reasons.Both are pretty sites with good easy walking.Kendal is near to an excellent farm shop and has a good dog friendly pub also within walking distance.There is a good cafe at the castle where you can take your dog too if you sit outside.Cirencester has its lovely little town and the Bathurst estate to walk,shop and eat in.
