Hello.

i need to replace my Motorhome (3ltr engine) starter battery and I am not sure whether you can use an AGM type or should you just use a regular type.

unfortunately the current battery doesn’t have any markings to identify which type is is??

Any advice would be Really helpful thanks

If it is only used for starting the motorhome and maintaining an alarm I would have thought buying an AGM battery would be a bit OTT. A regular lead acid, probably sealed these days, should be fine. I think AGM engine batteries are only used when vehicles have automatic stop start to supposedly reduce pollution.

The main thing is to get one which has the same terminal configuration as your existing fit and enough cranking capaicity to start a diesel engine. I have a 3litre engine and the cranking capacity is 800/900 but it is a replacement battery. Perhaps someone on here who has an original can give you the battery details for your chassis make. Is it a Fiat and what model and year?

You may be lucky and the chassis model might be listed in those reference books Halfords have for batteries?
