I am completely confused 😞
I am so confused about when and where we can go to a campsite this year .
I have booked one night away for July 4th at a local site as that’s the earliest the sites can open in England . I’ve now read that the sites in wales are opening on June 1st? If this is true then can we travel from England to wales ( we live on the border ) to stay overnight ? I am so confused . Has anyone else got any nights away booked in Wales for June ?

I live in North Pembrokeshire and have heard nothing about June 1st Sites being able to open.
We are still in lockdown here with beachside carparks taped off and all public loos etc., closed as well as all pubs, cafes & attractions. So I think your rumour is wrong.
And its not open for residents either.

A number of CL's local to us are open and have been open throughout!
2 I cycle past weekly have had a number of different units on (so certainly not just key workers, especially as rural as this!)

Sorry to say this but this confusion arrises from people believing fake news published in the English tabloid press or on social media. There will be no major easing of lockdown restrictions here in Wales any time soon. The First Minister is expected to announce some minor changes tomorrow lunchtime, but do not expect caravan sites, touring or static to open any time soon. My guess, and it is only a guess, will be mid July at the earliest.

But they could well be units of people who have no fixed abode, and those are allowed to stay on a single site and not move off. Have you been in to ask or to see if they are in fact occupied or have just been left as,storage?

Like I say, different units weekly - I have seen older couples with dogs and even a young couple with a child in a pushchair - certainly some are tourists for sure.
Cant say it overly concerns me, but noteworthy nonetheless.

Sorry to say but if it is a CL, it will not be open for touring visitors. You may have incorrectly assumed it is open. Why not go and ask the CL owner?

2 CL’s I have bookings with have said the CMC have advised they can open in 4th July (subject to change) and will honour my bookings. Watch this space 🤞🏻

Currently, here in Wales we are allowed to drive 5 miles from home, meet one other household in an out door space and other than that our freedoms are curtailed. Very few businesses are open, particularly those that attract tourism so I honestly don't foresee that there will suddenly be a decision to allow tourists to flood in from over the border. It's a ridiculous idea that we in Wales will still be stuck with the 5 mile limit even when tourism kickstarts and can't go the other way to England.
Anyway, a decision will be announced next week on the next steps so we will have to wit and see.
