Best stay away during the Pilgrimage the weekend before Pentecost. The entire area surrounding the town is occupied with caravans, trailers and tents. Here's the Virgen Del Rocio, whom they come to see.

Amazing craftsmanship in the making of these 'giants'. Must admit I thought this was a Spanish tradition esp Valencia. Although we know that many refugees from the Spanish civil war ended up in Argeles.

Must be over 25 years since I was caravanning in Argeles. Where did that time go?

We upgraded the caravan. Just have to find a new towcar.

Mrs WN found a friend in need so she gave him a hug.

Nearly. Well done. It was taken in Wismar, Northern Germany, not far from Lubbeck or Kiel. A smaller prettier place than either of the above, IMO. A former Hanseatic town.

The CLs aren't for guessing. They are at Abbey View, Whitby and Highlow Farm near Monyash Derbyshire.

One of a view from a campsite in Germany. Someone might recognise it.

The other is a painting that my wife has done from a photograph of a bridge that we came across when on a walk in Provence in France. The bridge was on a pilgrimage to Compostella but in a backwater area that we just happened to stop for lunch on a lovely walk. The packhorse bridge was apparently damaged in a storm and the locals rebuilt part of it with a cockleshell design due to the logo for St.James. We've lost the photograph somewhere but my wife decided to do an oil painting of the bridge to remind us of a lovely holiday. As AD said for the OP, 'Better Days"

Haven't stayed on Abbey Farm but have stayed on Tofts House, which I believe is owned by same family and just around the corner. Always meant to try Abbey View as the views looked fabulous and it's a lovely peaceful area 😊

Both CLs have their advantage. Some prefer Toft as it has some H/S but the grass drains well at Abbey View, as we can testify after last year.smile The name is a bit misleading as the Abbey is only visible from one of the 5 pitches but it's easy to see from the end of the cl.

It is owned by the same people.

Last time we were near Whitby we used Monks Farm at Sneaton: really good views of Abbey and sea from most (all?) Pitches and next door to a pub😉

It was booked solid when we wanted to go last year. A bit easier walk into Whitby from there as well.

If you want one with a view of the Abbey, try Monks Farm at Smeaton, which looks right across to the Abbey.

And I hope you enjoyed it there.laughing

Edit, just noticed your post above which came as I was trying to post, sorry.

Doesn't do any harm to plug  good CL other two, unless of course they get too popular and we can't get a pitch on them when we want to go there.wink

Think the 1st one is Salisbury. Hope I’m right, my cousin is a chaplain there, so I really should know it

Still thinking about the other, must know it, but can’t place it.....🤔

Bit of a cheat for the second one as it's a view from the back. Taken on the same holiday as the Salisbury one.
