Snap...For the first time, we have booked a CL and purely by accident.

Thinking (optimistically ,I agree) we may resume touring in July we looked at a site near the coast not too far away. Unfortunately the CaMC site serviced pitches are fully booked for the period we wanted. Looking at the site on Google Earth, I noticed a few caravans sited a few hundred yards further along the road...It was a CaMC CL.

Fired off an email which was replied by return saying the dates are available, do we want a HS pitch or happy on grass. There is one of each available. All five pitches are fully serviced with 16 amp connections. WiFi if required is free... as are any apples, pears that may be left in the orchard store room.

And like the OP, we will be perfectly safe using our own facilities, taking walks along the coastal path etc...All of this for exactly half the price of the CaMC site...

l agree that the club has said it will hopefully open up the sites in July, but l would have thought the club will use these next 7 weeks set up a guide for what they need to happen when we are on site, never thought they would open sooner. The country needs to plan away out of lockdown otherwise we will be in worse condition than we are now

Maybe the club has plans or maybe conditions will be imposed. Be patient and we will find out when the time is right. Without a crystal ball, no one can say for sure what will happen.

The Govt is planning a way out. That's what last night's broadcast was about.

PS. No, we will be in a worse situation than now if we relax conditions too soon and get hit by a second wave of infections. Saving lives must take priority.

Just had a change of heart and cancelled booking for River Breamish club site in July. I've booked Brandon Ford CL instead. We stayed there last year and it has fully serviced pitches which are spaced well apart. I think it will be easier to maintain social distancing at this location and if things change before then we can transfer our deposit to a later booking.

Not much chance of distancing on a cruise ship thought.

Wont be taking a Cruise of any type for the forseeable future, cant think of anything worse, even before Covid 19,  Norovirus was constantly taking down the mainly elderly passengers. Much prefer my own M/H. Thanks.

The only time I have ever had norovirus was in Northern France and we had our caravan we were not on a cruise.

If it's "toilet blocks or nothing", you'll have nothing for a whole lot longer.

We've had this discussion, CY. Why all or nothing? There's always a third way.

    youre absolutely right, David...

fortunately, we're as comfortable on a site with the best facilities as we are kipping (and showering) in the van in the middle of nowhere or on a no facs site or aire.

i guess if sites are to open, there will uave to be some changes, we will get to find out what they might be a bit further down the road (rue/strasse)..

I’m no more expert than you, CY, so I'll leave it to those in the business who know far better than the amateurs who repeat the same tired, unhelpful, negative mantra. They are the ones who will have the constructive ideas which they will eventually put into deeds.

Hands up on that one as we make minimal use of site toilet facilities when on site. We try to find a pitch near a service point so that we can use our own facilities. So it matters not to me if they remain closed. There of course is the wider point of whether or when we will decide to go away even when its possible and we won't do that until we feel reasonably safe.

My wife never ever uses the site facility block preferring to shower etc in our Van. I am the exact opposite & I never use the Van facilities preferring to use the facility block.

We have booked & paid a deposit for a Commercial site in Cornwall for the last week in June. We have just received an email from the site manager stating that they are cancelling our booking because they have been given guidance from the Government that they will not be allowed to accept guests at any time in June

Did you not hear BoJo's announcement that the hospitality industry isn't likely to open until at least 4th July?

Yet the CC are accepting booking from the 1st July. Do they know more than BoJo do you think?

We've got a tentative booking at a CL at Flamborough, near Bridlington for mid July. The owners are friends of ours and the arrangements are very flexible and since we keep in touch on a weekly basis we can move things around depending on what happens.

The only other booking we have is for Sandringham at Christmas - I really am hoping that will be possible!
