Corona Virus Concerns

Isn't that pretty standard at most C&MC sites, its certainly been the case at the ones we've visited.
Driver stays with vehicle passenger goes into the office to book in. If there is a big queue then I don't bother getting out of the car until we are second from the front.
Thankfully we don't often use sites that are that busy and we rarely arrive at scramble time

It is more common it seems that on both clubs sites that for some reason, both occupants of two berth LVs seem to"" need?" to both go to site office, hence at busy times a member of staff is normally there to "advise" driver to stay with vehicle to reduce the log jam at the entrance
We try to not arrive untill the 1200/1300 rush has subsided as OH is a non driver and has difficulty with walking , more so after sitting on a journey

Some of us are bright enough never to queue😇

I got a Tesco slot this morning. Only our third since 14th March. There were lots empty. Mind, it was 4.20am🤣

"OH is a non driver and has difficulty with walking , more so after sitting on a journey"
This is exactly the same for us hence.......
"I'm both driver & payer of fees"

I have registered for Asda, but find their website very clunky. Our Asda only releases slots at one week at a time and they are quickly snapped up. We aren’t struggling to be honest, so long as I can get a 3-4 weekly slot for heavy, bulky stuff, we are doing fine. I loathe shopping of any kind to be honest, but a delivery, a trip to Aldi and local milk top up, plus a veggie box once a month is our routine now. And I might just keep it on to be honest.

You must have frequented different sites to us. OH always went in and I stayed in the car, no matter how long or short the queue, and usually it was short, often just us.
I can understand why new members might both want to go in the first time, but as the rules on all club sites are the same, there is no need for that every time.
The purpose was to book in and pay, not to chat like long lost friends, especially not if the queue was long.
Chatting, if necessary, could be done later.
All sites we have used in the last 20 years have processed arrivals strictly in arrival order, no point in doing it any other way.

I've had one delivery from Morrisons, I registered with Asda too but haven't needed to use them and the Waitrose delivery has now settled down (after several click and collects.) I don't like supermarket shopping so I'm not worried about "browsing" the shelves and I'll be sticking with the delivery scheme as I intended to go down this route just as lockdown started. We don't have any "easy" supermarket shopping near us, we have to pay to park at Waitrose (get money back etc) and Asda, is extremely busy whatever the situation. Just now our orders seem colossal as we're shopping for our neighbours too but it's kept us all going. The local organic farm shop has proved a life saver and we could easily just use their delivery scheme in the future. We've never eaten so much fresh fruit and veg, had to be quite inventive to prevent waste. We have a milk delivery three times a week. I'm quite glad not to be "popping" out to the shops each week and even our village shop has queues, only two allowed in at a time. Meanwhile the garden veg are growing, being at home has given us time to plant a lot more. We have spent many a holiday wondering if the tomatoes are dead!

Same here brue. There’s a certain air of mystery wondering what will be in the veggie box, but we have wasted nothing. The dog is fond of cooked swede, green off cauliflower and cabbage as well. Good for his diet.
I am going to resurrect an old recipe of Mum’s that was a favourite of ours as children. Cabbage leaf parcels, steamed. Take time to make but very nice. Rice, shallot, mushrooms, could use tuna or salmon, etc..... Polish I think in origin, Mum had a lovely Polish friend we grew up with, children were same age as us. War refugees.

You might find that they do the testing in the car park or elsewhere away from the hospital? I know that is the arrangement in some hospitals.

The other problem with club sites is not only the check in but as the pitches are not prebooked you have to make a second visit to the office to let the staff know which pitch you have selected, and on those sites with them, collect your barrier tag.
One thing I don't like is when its busy and everyone is joggling for position driving round and round a site to get the perceived remaining 'best pitch' I think policy should change to allocated pitches.
on an associate site we visit(ed) regularly you can discuss the pitch over the phone before hand, so that when you arrive on site you visit the office pay your dues and thats it, or you can drive straight to the pitch park up on your pre selected pitch then check in.
This system did let me down once when someone had decided the pitch I had booked suited them better, which actually did us a favour as we were upgraded to a fully serviced plus pitch with all the bells and whistles for no extra charge.

It shouldn't be anything to worry about, if it is a drive through test, you stay in your car with the windows closed.
signs are held up to tell you what to do
Open a window when told, a test kit is passed through the open window then close the window, carry out the instructions for the test (you may be asked to park in a separate area to do this).
once test is complete attach the barcodes and seal the test swab in the containers and bags provided. hand in the test kit ( drive to the drop off point) and carry out any further instructions.
Test results for all my team which are spread out across the country have been returned in less than 24hrs (48hrs is the target)

We are just happy to have ASDA. They are the only ones delivering in this area. We had an e mail from Sainsburys but once the post code went in it was " sorry we dont deliver in your area". I understand that as a "vulnerable" person the Welsh Assembly notified the supermarkets and once we made our first order we were given a regular 2 or 3 week slot. No need to scramble for slots. There is to be little easing in wales from Monday, just allowed to exercise more than once a day. Visits to the Beach or mountains still prohibited. with a further review in 3 weeks. R factor still at .8

Wish it was 2nd floor of hospital !

I'm sure you'll be completely separate from COVID cases, as DavidKlyne says may well be temporary set up.
OH's cousin admitted to one hospital, swiftly transferred to another, on Monday bleed on the brain 😱. Completely separate from 'known' cases. Her hubby can drop stuff off but can't visit. Better news today looks like invasive surgery won't be needed. Their son is nurse, full PPE, at Mancheter ITU so they are in 'the know' even though she's in Romford hospital now.

We are getting Tesco slots, random times of logging in - middle of the night middle if the day and inbetween, but do have priority button as well as normal, so double chance. Priority work on first come first served, all slots £2.
Iceland, Asda, Waitrose and Sainsbury not a sniff.
I won't be venturing out much if theres any easing, we're definitely 12 weeks so long as other people adhere to social distancing. Please don't make it worse for the likes of us. (This feels like 2nd year of lockdown for us as last year almost a write off and just venturing out when this hit 😢)
New puppy coming to someone, us if I can travel, son if I can't, its local to him. If he can't come here then she gets B&B with him DIL and grand dogs they're just over an 1.hour away. Latter sounds good, fully potty and other basic training when we do get her 🤣🤣.

When we did an online Iceland shop there were no slots shown but as we were not in a hurry just pressed next available still nothing ,but as soom as we went to checkout and paid, a delivery slot for the next evening came up
Wonder if slota appear when real customer rather than just looking for slots

here we go again, what's wrong with these people
Three men from Slough have been rescued after becoming stuck at the bottom of cliffs in Studland.
Despite the government’s guidelines, the men had travelled to Dorset to visit Studland Beach.
They had walked along the bottom of the cliffs close to Old Harry Rocks, when they were cut off by the tide coming in last night. (7 May)
All three men climbed up the cliff face to escape the rising sea, where one managed to get to safety and call for help.
'Large rescue operation launched'
Four police cars, four police officers, one PCSO, one police drone, two Coastguard response teams, Swanage’s inshore lifeboat with three crew and a double crewed ambulance were all called out to rescue the two men who remained trapped.1 -
Me too, MM. Very seldom had to wait in a queue although we do tend to arrive around noon, but never on a Friday, and only ever use club sites in the low season, anyway.

Tried that with them and the others 🤣. You can't load a basket without at slit at some!
Have now managed to get Milk & More delivery starting next week. Certainly offer a decent selection including planted hanging basket, bedding and periennal plants which I wasnt expecting!

Never tried on-line shopping. Quite happy to drive down to supermarkets around 5:30pm, not had to queue then at Aldi, and if don't get everything we want can pop over the road to Tesco, or call in at Asda on the way back home. Simples.
